Killing Joke Laugh? I Nearly Bought One!
Voto:
I am getting the two "night time" and "brighter than a thousand suns," more...calm, if that can be defined, they still seemed to me to be important albums.

sanjuro, tell me where these places are where things cost so little that I would dive right in; especially for CDs, give me some examples because I'm honestly curious! :-) hi, the saint in reverse

you could try with the other album reviewed by egebamyasi, it's a collection of the first three albums; personally, I would recommend you get "lament," and I'm really pushing for "ha! ha! ha!". Check out all our comments above. Anyway, "lament" is significantly different from this one, it contains the famous "dancing with tears in my eyes", and two tracks like "lament" and "man of two hearts"; the Celtic influences are barely noticeable, the sound is more synth (dark) than in "vienna", there are percussions that slightly remind you of Gabriel III or "Tin Drum" by Japan, but don’t expect an ethnic album, eh! it’s just a vague resemblance of sounds. Anyway, you can find the samples on www.amazon.com. I think it’s a great album. Unfortunately, I can't comment on the others yet. Bye

Uhm, his "you gonna want me" reminds a bit of New Order's "Technique," although it's frankly not at that level of writing. I don't know the album.
Depeche Mode Songs Of Faith And Devotion
Voto:
Last thing. I would give 5 for the quality of Music for the Masses, 5 for the suffering of Ultra, and 5 for the respect for the great growth and atmospheres of Black Celebration. Objectively, they would be worth half a point less, but here there's a FUNDAMENTAL component at play, namely the feelings and memories that certain albums evoke in me. Since it’s music, and not an engineering manual (unfortunately...), I believe that the emotional aspect should be given great consideration. Of course, this is MY opinion. Until next time, the saint in reverse.

Indeed, it would be 4.5. So I've expressed my humble opinion. Um, why don't you propose a more sensitive grading scale? In tenths, it would be great. One caress to everyone.

Dream Theater Metropolis Pt. 2: Scenes From a Memory
Voto:
in my humble and quite ignorant opinion, the album doesn’t work. I don’t disapprove of metal-prog pieces, but these insert unnecessary time changes and stretch the songs excessively. I never manage to finish listening to one of their albums (one bought, "awake," one borrowed, that is this one, and returned to sender without tears, one gifted, "images and words," which I find quite good, if only it didn’t have that usual flaw of overly long, ethereal passages that you can’t follow).
New Order Movement
Voto:
ceremony can be found on "substance 1987". It doesn't belong to "movement", even though it likely contributed to its launch. It must have been a "single track". On "substance 1987" (white cover) you will also find some tracks from an EP from 1982, a bridge between "movement" and the definitive electronic "new order". "hurt", "everything gone green", "confusion" (1987 version) for example. Bye
