Interesting and encyclopedic review... I didn't know there was a song by Brassens titled "Le Père Noël et La Petite Fille," certainly Faber owes a lot to Brassens. The only thing you might have left out, whether intentionally or not, is the influence of the French poet Francois Villon on the album. "La ballata degli impiccati" is the title of a poem by Villon; the song isn't exactly a translation of Villon but is very much inspired by it, along with the final recitative.

"I never have any doubts about who made the Velvet Underground and who made the money." I disagree with that; Lou Reed contributed quite a bit to the Velvet Underground, in fact a lot. Let’s say that afterward he also created "Berlin" and "Transformer," which are great albums, along with "the blue mask." Without taking anything away from John Cale, I believe that about 90% of the lyrics of the Velvet Underground songs are by Lou Reed...

But it seems to me that Keith Jarrett doesn't play in this, only Chick Corea...

I really liked Modern Times too, even though they slammed it hard on this site. I don't know what to say, Uncle Bob's balls keep smoking...

for the milonga longa longa longa longa. And especially for those who are not convinced that the rhumba is just that joy in tango. but the verde milonga drives me to distraction every time I play it. a milonga longa longa, still a milonga. Stravinsky, Charlie Parker, and Miles have nothing to do with the milonga, though. sorry but you seem a bit musically indifferent.
John Zorn Filmworks XIV: Hiding And Seeking

No, I think just (?!?) 120-130 albums under his name, not counting the sporadic appearances, like on the second album by Violent Femmes. Anyway, still an outrageous amount, even I, who consider myself a fan, think I've only listened to about 30%.

Wow, Mr. Wrecking Ball, so kind and so honest was your review of this dazzling daytime effort. Playful soundtrack antzicheno'. Did you perhaps also hint at number 14, Hiding and Seeking? To say the least, it's fantastiforme.
Bob Dylan Down In The Groove

well probably one of Dylan's worst, but still you're a bit too spiteful and simplistic, especially in the last sentence.

The Pulp were actually a remarkable band. "His 'n' Hers," "Different Class," and "This Is Hardcore" are great albums, while the last one, "We Love Life," is a bit less impressive. I wonder if the downward trajectory continues or if this one is actually good... sooner or later I'll have to give it a listen. The review seems a bit too fan-driven and therefore not that trustworthy ;D
