Roberto Benigni Pinocchio
Voto:
Among a thousand quality Pinocchios, among Walt Disney, Comencini, Carmelo Bene, perhaps Benigni hoped that we would get distracted and that the audience would like this too. Instead, this is truly a crazy crap, probably one of the worst Pinocchios ever. What to say, Robertaccio, what a bad end you've come to, you've really gotten bourgeois in a terrible way...
Bill Laswell Lo Def Pressure
Voto:
Interesting note. He has collaborated with Brian Eno, John Zorn, and Buckethead; I haven't listened to anything of his as a solo artist, I'll make sure to remedy that.
Luc Besson Léon
Voto:
This movie had amazed me when I saw it on DVD, it was about 2 hours long. The version I had seen on TV, however, lasted less than an hour and a half: they had censored about a quarter of the film (it was practically a different movie).
John Zorn From Silence To Sorcery
Voto:
I miss this too; however, I believe it falls under contemporary classical music, where some of the most challenging things Zorn has written are concentrated. For those interested in this aspect of his work, I personally recommend "Cartoon S & M," which is quite listenable.
John Zorn Six Litanies For Heliogabalus
Voto:
Well, to be honest, from what I've listened to, "Moonchild," "Astronome," and "Six Litanies For Heliogabalus" seem to me to rank among Zorn's misguided ventures, and this comes from a fan who literally adores Naked City and Painkiller. I may be retrograde and obscurantist, but it seems to me that with these last three albums, our saxophonist of (dis)trust is pulling a fast one on us. A bit like John Cage's 4'33'', if you get what I mean.
Sylvie Courvoisier Signs And Epigrams
Voto:
I listened to this pianist tackling the zornesco book of angels vol 3, Malphas, alongside Mark Feldman, who, by the way, seems to be her husband; what a lovely Masada family. At this point, I'm quite curious to listen to the Mephista...
Marc Ribot Asmodeus: Book Of Angels Volume 7
Voto:
I haven't listened to it yet, but Ribot usually creates sparks with the masada. For the record, I don't believe Trevor Dunn played in Naked City; Fred Frith was on bass there.
Ralph Peterson Ornettology
Voto:
Nice suggestion, I didn't know anything about it and I'll note it down.
Manuel Göttsching E2-E4
Voto:
Nice proposal and fun the sample
Michael Cimino Il Cacciatore

one of the best war movies of all time
