In my opinion, jump in the fire, orion, sanitarium, and master of puppets already say it all about the early Metallica. But it’s not true that they got worse after the black album (great i disappear).

The opening riffs of "right now" and "play me" are a bit similar..."did my time" is, in my opinion, the best one, even though it has a tone that's somewhat "power pop"..."y all want a single" could have been done by Eminem as well...for "right now" they could have shot a parody of Italian news shows as a video...
