Iron Butterfly Ball
Voto:
The review rating would be 4. I don't rate the album because I haven't listened to it (although I believe it deserves consideration). It seems to me that "In-a-gadda-da-vida" has overshadowed all the rest of the Iron Butterfly's work.

Interesting mention of an influential yet often overlooked figure, even on these pages. I only know the title track of this album (also covered by the Shadows), and I am quite intrigued by the Battisti cover. I greatly appreciated his reinterpretation of Baglioni a couple of years later.
Nick Drake Rider on the wheel

You made me want to listen to it while following the lyrics, thinking about all those times when I too found myself trapped in the wheel. A greeting to you and Paluk.
Elvis Presley Elvis Country: I'm 10,000 Years Old
Voto:
I know him very little, especially his recent years. This seems like an interesting work to me because it is not celebratory.
Fabrizio De André La canzone dell'amore perduto / La ballata dell'amore cieco (o della vanità)
Voto:
Two beautiful and noble love songs (and about love). For the first one, I particularly love, besides De André's versions, that of Donatella Moretti:
The second is inspired by a poem by Jean Richepin titled (presumably ironic) "Cuore di mamma."
Johnny Dorelli 30 Anni Di Canzoni D'Amore
Voto:
A review that's a bit too list-like, but I appreciate the unusual choice. I've always admired Dorelli for his professionalism and elegance. In my opinion, he reached his peak as a singer in '67 when he brought "L'immensità" to Sanremo.

I have always followed Dinger's initiatives with interest and respect, although in this case I am a bit intimidated by the length of some tracks.

The names involved in this operation are definitely worth a listen. For a fourth review, it's good.

I may be stating the obvious, but this is an excellent vintage wine. Valdastico and its surroundings are delightful spots to drive around in a Topolino, of course in amaranth.
Fabrizio De André Volume 8
Voto:
I really appreciate this album: the highlights are definitely the songs written by Faber on his own ("Giugno '73" has one of the most beautiful endings one could imagine, while "Amico Fragile" impresses with its off-kilter rhythm, unrhymed verses, and surreal imagery); the collaboration with De Gregori yields imaginative and somewhat hermetic lyrics (and for this reason, they are captivating). "Nancy" is my favorite Cohen cover. And then there's "Le storie di ieri," an unsettling piece due to the contrast between the serene musical flow and the evocation of ghosts from the Ventennio that are anything but abstract.
