The most important polymerization of Klaus Dinger: "La Düsseldorf" + "Neu!". Little passion for the city in question.
The timeline is stuck in 1995 when Dinger joins a couple of young musicians (+ his mother, who doesn't appear in this release) obviously from Düsseldorf. In short, all roads no longer lead to Rome...
The fact is that Germany proves hostile in producing and distributing at that time, which is why they inevitably derail to Japan, the country where most (if not all) of the releases will come out and promotional tours will take place.
The composition and recording are very quick and spontaneous, managing to establish the release of this first album by 1996. It is easily understandable how the characteristics of Mr. Dinger's historical projects can reflect here as well, 20 years later; nonetheless, there are massive doses of Dance winds, after all, we are still in the mid-'90s.
Three-quarters of the work is done by Dinger himself, utilizing the rest of the team for just one track.
The hypnosis session begins... EIN ZWEI DREI VIER... and the flashbacks start with "Hero '96", which through title and lyrics cannot help but lead us back to "Hero" directly from "Neu! '75". A true guiding track: the bass line that intensifies exponentially as the imposing 23 minutes pass sets the path to be followed.
Everything already changes with "Mayday '95", practically a ballad, halfway between lament and love song, with a sparse text and a chorus identical to "Dear Prudence" by the Beatles. The track you don't expect.
Finally, the friends come into play for "D.- 22.12.95", a jam session of over half an hour, which moreover wasn't even supposed to be included. And yet it was more than right to do so!!! The perfect machine for a nice solo night drive on the highways; a kind of cosmic Kraut-Dance, escorted by notable guitars and obsessive rhythmic base, as tradition dictates. The ballad returns again in the most acoustic version possible and twice as long, "Mayday '96", where Dinger whispers rather than sings, also leaving room for the gentle murmurs of Victoria Wehrmeister. The perfect track for the end of the highway journey, at the dawn's light... reclined seat in the empty car, window slightly lowered to let in the first morning breeze and straight into sweet dreams.
