Hymnen, you hit the nail on the head. The complexity behind the apparent simplicity.
Carlo Marx Friedrich Engels Il Manifesto Del Partito Comunista

Perhaps it would have been better to title the review "Communism," since the book is hardly mentioned. A lot of banalities from a Bar Sport, some good insights on punkabbestia and the inherently totalitarian nature of communist doctrine, and a blasphemy (Bottino Craxi compared to Olof Palme). I believe that Marxism, despite its totalitarian claim to create a New Man and to level (downward) the differences between individuals, as well as the degenerations and crimes that followed (from Lenin to Pol Pot, passing through Stalin and Mao), played a fundamental role in pushing workers to unite and fight for better living conditions. Many current achievements (the 8-hour workday, paid vacations, laws protecting women's and children's labor rights) are due to movements and parties inspired by Marxism, albeit revised and corrected in a more or less reformist and democratic key. To assimilate the message and aspirations of the Manifesto outright with the atrocities of communist regimes is like claiming that the wars of religion, the Crusades, the Inquisition, corruption, and the overpowering of the clergy are applications of the Gospel.

I've already talked about the album in one of my reviews. Perhaps the only way to appreciate it is not to take it all too seriously (as it seems Francuzzo warns in the liner notes). I admit, though, that I’m not ready to listen to "Za" again: ever since then, I’ve been having issues with narcolepsy :-)

I read two excerpts in middle school, then I always carefully avoided it. Too much molasses, with all due respect.

Always avoided, despite being an admirer of the Tessari-Gemma tandem. A dignified product, albeit belated.

Unmissable record.
Giulio Mozzi Sono L'Ultimo A Scendere (E Altre Storie Credibili)

I'm about to embark on a period of long train journeys... I've never read anything by Mozzi, but this could be a good start.

A must-have... against the wear and tear of modern life...
Edoardo Bennato Sono solo canzonette
Voto:
A superficial review, but the album, a slightly less successful sequel to "Burattino senza fili," is his latest work of substance. With two gems, "L'isola che non c'è" and the underrated "Nel covo dei pirati," along with the intelligent controversy (off-topic, but linked to "Il gatto e la volpe") of "Sono solo canzonette." It's a pity that he has since been unable to tell reality through fairy tales, and above all, that he hasn't been able to hit on a successful album again.
