Tiziano Terzani Un Altro Giro Di Giostra
Voto:
I quote Macaco. Our conception of time as a linear flow rather than a circle (typical of Eastern thought) almost inevitably leads to a distressing and anguishing view of death. I haven't read the book yet, but I keep it in mind: I have already appreciated Terzani as a journalist... in the face of certain unavoidable questions, it is wise to have interlocutors; sharing the same doubts, even if it doesn't lead to certainties, nonetheless alleviates the anguish and the sense of emptiness.
Mick Jagger Primitive Cool
Voto:
Great review, but I've never been drawn to Mick's solitary escapades...
Black Sabbath Live At California Jam 1974 (Bootleg)
Voto:
Great listening invitation, vintage Black Sabbath, "blind box" rating. Last, but not least, an encouragement to review bootlegs.
Elton John Made in England
Voto:
Congratulations on the excellent documentation work on Elton John, who, from what I've heard (the refined "Blessed," a true masterstroke, "Please," and "Made in England"), seems really on form, much more than in the previous "Duets" and "The Lion King." I agree about the cover: Reg, like Lucio Dalla, looked much better without hair.
Elio E Le Storie Tese Gattini - Selezione Orchestrale di Classici Nostri Belli
Voto:
The operation intrigues me, even though I’m not sure that all the chosen pieces are easily orchestrable; nonetheless, a great idea from the Elii, "unichi" and never trivial, even if they’ve seen better days. Miao!
Paolo Virzì Tutta La Vita Davanti
Voto:
Interesting film, both for the subject matter (among other things, I have dealt with a company like Multiple) and for the team involved. It should be shown, in a loop, with clamps to keep the eyes open (in full A Clockwork Orange style), to those who believe that everything is just fine. Virzì is one of the best Italian directors currently on the scene.
George Clooney Good Night And Good Luck
Voto:
Sharp analysis, even if it doesn't add anything new under the sun... it intrigues me: I will download it, and as soon as I have the house to myself (to watch a movie I need absolute silence and solitude), I will watch it in a marathon with Videocracy.
Edoardo Bennato Le Ragazze Fanno Grandi Sogni
Voto:
From what I've heard, it seems to me a quite respectable album, to which I pay homage for the difficult time Edo was going through.
Elton John Ice On Fire
Voto:
Great review; I only know "Nikita," but from what I've gathered, I haven't missed anything.
