Dream Theater Metropolis Pt. 2: Scenes From a Memory

P.S. there’s no need to repeat the message three times, just post it once and people usually read it.. Hi, I’m going to download some albums.. You know how it is, they told me that MP3 is roughly the same quality as a record, and on top of that, you save 20 euros. I recommend it!

Second note: Metropolis part.2 one of the biggest albums in the history of rock??!! Has your brain gone haywire?! And who would support that? I'm curious, I really want to have a good laugh.. Guys, it's fine to defend your idols, but making such outrageous claims is a bit presumptuous, right?
I'm certainly not going to reply to you again about Portnoy (as I already have dozens of times) because I don’t want to waste any more of my time.. if you feel like it, read my earlier responses, you’ll understand that my point of view isn’t solely focused on technique as you seem to stubbornly imply.. BONA!!

Are you crazy?! Damn downtown, you really took it the wrong way.. there's a little concept that you Dream Theater fans just can’t seem to wrap your heads around, and yet it’s not difficult: the fact that every musician (as is obvious) has influences doesn’t mean they have to play by mindlessly repeating what others have already done. Now, after repeating this concept for the eightieth time, I hope it finally sunk in for you and that next time you’ll say less nonsense..

4) (sorry for the disorganized way I'm addressing the points in your comment) the fact that a group can perfectly recreate a studio album may indicate nothing more than an extremely accurate training, or at most great technique. In both cases, commendable, but it has little to do with the artistic/creative quality of a group and/or an album. 5) such a strange and ambitious record? More than ambitious, I would define it terribly pretentious, for the same reason it is by no means strange, namely there isn’t a note that isn't a reiteration (and not a reinterpretation) of something already written. 6) these are absolutely sounds and styles that we've heard countless times before, and this is far from being inevitable. In this regard, listen to "Loveless" by My Bloody Valentine (just to give you an example, as it could be cited by dozens), a group of four buffoons (technically speaking), who nonetheless manages to be incredibly innovative, original, and evocative in its sonic exploration. A sonic exploration that CAN exist, and moreover with few means, but that DT have never succeeded in realizing, so schematic and entangled is their vision of Rock. 7) and with this, I'll conclude, people love them, just as people love Eros Ramazzotti, just as people love Vasco Rossi, just as people love Laura Pausini, and similarly, there are people who love the My Bloody Valentine I mentioned (in Japan they adore them, and there’s more than one website dedicated to them). What can it ever mean that "people love them"?

1) starting from the bottom: Ellade Bandini, as great a musician as he is, is not a music critic, and I don't believe his opinion is worth more a priori than any other expressed here. 2) For the same reason, you could have saved yourself the list of your credentials as a musician, since they mean nothing in themselves. This is not a forum about who can play better or who has more experience. 3) The fact that you can cover DT's pieces means nothing. See point 2.

Life is peachy is IMMENSELY bigger than this; bolder, more original, less self-satisfied. Anyway, better "follow the leader" than the subsequent flops.. Welcome!
