"You Forgot It In People" possesses a vast range of moods and atmospheres without losing the thread that ties it all together, which is not easy if it's true that in its 56 minutes we can find the classic Kranky guitars (see GYBE), orchestral eminence, the chaotic and biting accelerations of the New York sound, the taste for a subtle and relaxing pop, and certain rarefied post-rock atmospheres, a cauldron of sounds manipulated with awareness and now rare style.
The BSS demonstrates an inventive, lively, complex, and multifaceted creativity all treated with a good dose of low-fi,
Personally, listening to this work brings back too many groups to mind, and just to name a few, I'll throw Wilco, Jim O'Rourke, Interpol.
Dinosaur Jr., but don't get distracted in seeking similarities and let yourself be carried away by these guys who maybe haven't created a masterpiece but came damn close.
