In my opinion, Waters' solo albums are rubbish. They are pompous and self-congratulatory to an excessive degree. You should have seen him live: he managed to turn even "set the controls..." into a mess; imagine it with a nice five-minute sax solo in the middle of the piece (I mean, what the hell does that have to do with it?!) and backing singers harmonizing with him.. how disgusting!!

But what can you do? As long as the culture of MTV and Sanremo prevails, it’s hard to get recognized by the masses if you make music with a bit of originality.. no no, not at all offensive. Of course, it's always about discussing, not offending.. Isn't the beauty of these discussions what makes them interesting? Anyway, I have never called you "crazy" in response to your comment, I just emphasized that your statement about "metropolis" might have been a tad exaggerated! : )
As for comments and critiques on the DT, I've read a bit, but they are not so clearly one-sided praises for the DT. There are also several critics who inevitably wonder if the Dream Theater actually live up to the technical display, or if in the end it’s all just smoke and no fire.. In any case, even if everyone praised them, it’s better to form a personal opinion; after all, how many works (of various genres) have been rediscovered or, conversely, denigrated over time?
