Damn.. and think that I hadn't been here for months :-) is a 200-post discussion going to reopen?? Anyway, hey know-it-all! I don't even think it makes sense to ask the question.. what’s the point of form if it doesn’t have substance? what’s the point of a signifier that doesn’t have a meaning? it seems to me that it’s all right here! bye

Oh yes.. more decent music and less revivalist crap from the '80s.. maybe :-)

Well... between the awesome battles and the airy melodies, there could be a billion variations :-) Anyway, you really made me want to listen to it again, you and the comments... but every time I've tried, it hasn't convinced me. Among the '60s revivalists with a pop twist, all the Elephant 6 seem way more original to me (even if they're a few years later).

Nice review.. but I’ve always found him very overrated: whether with the Soft Boys or as a solo artist, it seems he has never done anything particularly relevant. With the Soft Boys, it’s just a simple and harmless revival. And for the rest, he’s the typical English artist who can’t break out of the concepts of song structure and airy melody, not even if you threaten him with death.

Farfisa+echo=one of the most beautiful sounds in the world. Let’s not forget that Wright played the compact, and practically half of the Floyd sound is him. I agree with Psycho: they need to be used in the right way.

It's a shame that the keyboardist is not very impactful live... in the studio, the acidic sound of the Farfisa Compact is clearly fundamental. Despite the uniqueness of their interpretative approach, I believe that any band performing live inevitably suffers from the absence of a bass. I would be curious to see them too, but they aren't passing through Florence for now.
