The review, as always, is more illustrative than a thousand sterile descriptions... but I remain in doubt, I’m talking about the discourse as a whole; and I see all these alternatives and innovations as the most intellectualistic of solutions. This is what I don’t like... what is new today seems to be losing sight of hedonism, humility, pure communicativeness... stuff for the elite, and I don’t like that logic.

: ) ...but why didn't you say so earlier?? OLD FOOL! : D ..tell me the truth, you're actually a fanatic of the great Ramones too, revolutionaries with 4 chords!! : DD All jokes aside, I now better understand your point of view, which I finally get in its entirety. Best regards!

eheheh, max max, you keep seeing only what you want to see.. : ) but that’s understandable, if you really like the DT.. What’s less understandable is how much you try at all costs to disparage my argument (or the one in general, of the "social category" you invented, that is, the "detractors"), instead of basing your responses on the quality of the music. You’re entirely focused on going against the opponent, rather than concentrating on the content, so you’re just going around in circles, going around and around and saying nothing. For example, have I ever talked about Metallica? Answer: no. So it’s pointless for you to bring up that example just to prove that everyone who doesn’t like Dream Theater has a biased and prejudiced view of Dream Theater itself... that doesn’t work with me, because I’ve expressed a reason in terms of musical content, whether you like it or not.. you have desperately tried to find it contradictory, but it remains so : ) ..no hate by default, just an opinion that you seem unable to counter.

I'm sorry to disappoint your great desire to find flaws in my speech (or in the speech of any "detractor" of the DTs), but with the same measure of judgment I could simply say that you misunderstood.. : D ..anyway, discussion closed, before it turns pathetic..

Pierinho, you still haven't grasped it: the reference to the session musicians was intentional. Of course, they are "kick-ass" musicians; technically, they are impeccable, but for one reason or another, I personally pity them... because, poor things, they are as technically skilled as they are creatively useless. And it seems to me the same case with Dream Theater. But it's especially on your first point that you missed the mark: I don't deny that you can recognize them... they are indeed quite recognizable, but THAT'S precisely the point—it's purely an executive style... At music school, they worked their asses off, endlessly repeating a feel they stumbled upon among the thousands of feels studied from one or another monster of the instrument, and they eventually arrived at having a range of personal patterns. But I reiterate, all of that is purely executive... there is nothing that constitutes a personality of style, a unique interpretation with a precise intent... they are aseptic musicians.

I didn’t say that there aren’t any notable gaps... I’m saying that regarding what is noteworthy and comes from across the ocean compared to what is noteworthy on the peninsula, I prefer the former, in terms of quality and quantity... And then the review is contradictory as well as presumptuous. With this, Max Pezzali has my boundless admiration!
