I don't get heated. But when it's too much, it's too much.

No, wait. The early works of Cathedral were a hybrid between doom and gothic metal. Supernatural Birth Machine from '96 is anchored in the seventies. You could associate them more with stoner-doom, if anything. Although, as you say, many bands can be categorized as doom (I would call it proto-doom, the primordial kind), very few have managed to maintain this tendency. MDB started with a doom sound close to death and then ended up infusing their tones with gothic elements, like Anathema.

For the samples, it's a matter of Internet Explorer. Try multiple times or from another PC. Unfortunately, the rest of the comment isn't clear to me.

So you'll agree with me that for what Cliff was doing at 23, he was a great. And we're not talking about For whom the bell.... which is, yes, a great song, but it's easy to play. You said that on this album you can't hear the bass. Which is quite utopian and hypocritical. And rest assured, I couldn't care less that I don't know how to play this instrument. I "strum" this beautiful instrument, but nothing more. I have fun, I'm not a professional, and I listen to many bass players and keep discovering new ones, increasingly talented. BUT YOU CAN'T TOUCH CLIFF BURTON.

They, like Cathedral, are anchored in doom metal, which is always full of gothic influences. But Anathema and My Dying Bride are the masters of the genre.

The first three bass lines? No, we're not even close. Anyway, I meant the part before he starts singing when Hetfield explodes. And you can't just call the riff from Orion, Master, or Damage a buzz. Look, I listen to the bands and the bassists you mentioned too, but Burton is in a league of his own. Ellefson is good, but can you compare?

Lacuna Coil Am I just a bit better only because there’s a powerful male voice (like Cannibal Corpse)??????
