The Jimi Hendrix Experience Axis: Bold As Love

Beautiful album, the transition between "EXP" and "Up From The Skies" is magnificent... and I also love how the bass is used throughout the whole record.

Complete recap, but I don't agree with the idea that Deep Purple "didn't invent anything"... sorry, but if that's the case, then neither did the Beatles... the Beat already existed before "Beatlemania" exploded; the Fab Four helped to refine and expand Beat culture, albeit in a softer way. The same goes for the Purple; Hard Rock had definitely been played by someone else (from the Velvet, I don't know, because I haven't listened to that album yet...) and Deep Purple, along with Zeppelin, helped make it more "visible"… I don't know if you understand. Things never come from nothing; there must always be something that contributes to the development or birth of something…

Lewis, I’ve never heard of them at all... from the way you talk about them, they sound really interesting... I’ll listen then!!!! Hey Lewis, today "Axis: Bold As Love" by Jimi Hendrix came out attached to TV sorrisi e canzoni.... I grabbed it right away, and now while I'm writing, I’m listening to it for the third time.... it’s magnificent!!!!!

I reply to Il Saggio: you’re not entirely wrong, but excuse me, considering the current musical landscape, which is equivalent to crap, can you explain to me the purpose of publishing or investing in artists who produce the same old POP nonsense? Yes, it’s true they bring in a lot of profit, but where is the quality of the music???? So if that’s the case, music is already over...

I barely listened to any tracks, so I couldn't provide a complete judgment... as for the rec, I really liked it.

Honestly, I find this more appealing than "Ys".... anyway, "Ys" is a nice album. Thank you for the vote, dear Dante! Well, damn Leo, when he joined the Ballet, he was 18!!! and he played the keyboard like someone who has studied music for decades.... these are talents!!!! Just think that today, just like back then, there might be talented adolescent musicians like Leo, but they will never make it to the spotlight, because record companies (especially today) focus on puppets and make them famous, just because they are good-looking....

Nice review, complete analysis of the album... Too bad I haven't listened to the album yet, I only know "All Right Now."

Duane, I really appreciate your kindness, but I don't base my ratings on whether it's a 2 or 5-star review depending on the group. If the album is good, it's 5 stars for me; if it's mediocre, it's 3 stars, and if it sucks, it's either 1 or 0. So I shouldn't give it a 2 just because it's an album by BALLETTO DI BRONZO, or give it a 5 just because it's an album by GENESIS. Now, I don't want to create controversy; I just wanted to clarify, nothing more.

for dreaminamirror: I recommend that you listen to this album... it won't be a waste of money or time... trust me. I read in your MyDeb that you are a keyboardist... I was born a guitarist... but since I discovered that great keyboardist Keith Emerson... for now I'm dabbling in keyboards... tell me, do you, as a keyboardist, know Keith Emerson? and... do you play only synthesizers, only piano, or both???
