I Tipi Oggi sono tanto triste/La ragazza bruttina (singolo 1967)

I found and listened to the two tracks... the first is the classic tear-jerking love song (still sufficient)... the second sounds like it's played by another band (very good)... overall rating: 3.5

Very interesting notification!!! Have you tried searching for more on the Internet? I'll see what I can do too... you've really piqued my curiosity! Lewis, can that compilation of Beat tracks from '62 to '70 be found?

Zarathustra, thank you for the appreciation! It's true, the Beatles without "The Lord of the Rings" wouldn't have been the same! Without Ringo, there wouldn't have been "Yellow Submarine," and there wouldn't have been the storyboard for the film "Help!" (as you probably already know, the entire plot of "Help!" revolves around the search for the rings worn by Ringo, carried out by Goddess Kali...) Regardless of that, the Beatles would never have been the same without one of them (indeed, after John's death, any hope for a reunion vanished)...

Peter Gabriel in an interview with Genesis, when asked who they were mainly inspired by: “Who should we have been inspired by? The Beatles! Who haven't the Beatles influenced?”... With this statement from Gabriel, I would like to conclude my speech, but I still have one thing to say about the fact that the music of the Fab Four may seem "irrevocably outdated": the comparison between outdated and modern music, speaking of rock from the '60s and '70s, doesn’t hold... it doesn’t hold because the rock of those two decades is the foundation of TODAY'S rock (it's better to use this phrase when discussing music)... and then, in my opinion, the Beatles are not outdated, nor is Elvis; just look at the sales they still make today, and as for the Fab Four, listen to the “White Album” to realize they are not outdated. Are the Beatles overrated? Yes, if they are, it's because they deserve it! Then excuse me, but with so much crap circulating today on the radio and television, do we really need to open a debate on a group that is already part of history and will certainly remain there forever? So if we need to say who is REALLY overrated, I say MADONNA! eh!!! Tell me, how come her latest album sold millions of copies even though it’s trash? The answer is easy, because it’s MADONNA... The rec is still well written, the album deals with the Beatles as known by people who, like you, vellutogrigio, see them as overrated, but in my opinion, they know nothing of the Beatles from 1967 to 1970.

It’s true that ELP is the more "commercial" facade of Prog and that they have nothing to do with the theatricality of Genesis and the vocal cohesiveness of Yes... it’s also true that (perhaps) Prog has come to an end due to their commercial inclinations (regarding the "Works" tour), but for me they have some merits, including the fact that listening to them (live and in studio) doesn’t feel like three musicians playing, but many more, and we can't overlook Keith's showmanship on stage (it’s true he can come across as "snob," given that it has been said Keith, when he played, seemed to say: "oh, look how strong I am!"_____ even if he was/is...). In Prog, there haven’t been many showmen of Keith’s caliber in live performances, and ultimately, in ELP’s music, there’s an air of antiquity; I always feel like I’m listening to a classical composition (indeed, Keith comes from that world), not played in a studio or on a stage, but in a theater, in an arena. ------- Hi Roby, to be honest, I already reached out during the last Beatles review. Well, it’s true that I haven’t been around here lately, just a few times out of curiosity, but I haven’t given any comments... I’ll be back with reviews soon, wait for me eagerly! :) PS: You could have sent me a private message if you wanted to know what had happened to me!

Interesting!!! Nice rec…! Since you’re a big fan of the Beatles, I want to tell you that a magazine has come out at newsstands featuring a special insert on "Revolver," which this year celebrates its first 40 years!!!! It’s a complete analysis of the album, from the cover to all the tracks that make up one of the most beautiful albums of the Fab! The magazine is called: "MUZ - Rock Magazine," you can't miss it; the cover of this issue features the famous artwork of the "Revolver" cover…
