Ho visto notti piene di giochi di sangue e dolore / e i corpi ottenuti, i corpi ottenuti...
Stereolab Transient Random Noise Bursts With Announcements

Surely the most original English band of the 90s: Centro pieno, pretazzo!

Great review, Joe: delving into the roots of crossover, we should write something about the Urban Dance Squad as well, the group from which Rage Against the Machine borrowed quite a few ideas...
Neil Young Trans
Voto:
One of the most controversial albums not only in the vast catalog of the Canadian artist, but in the entire history of rock. A bit like Neil's "metal machine music": listening is certainly challenging, but it's truly worth diving into the painful electro-folds of "Trans." The version of "Transformer man" present in "Unplugged" is wonderful. Good job, en-ri-co!
Muse Black Holes and Revelations

one of the most phony and unbearable groups around.
Neil Young Old Ways

I believe that albums like "landing on water" or "trans," difficult and certainly not successful, deserve more respect than "old ways," an album that adds nothing to the Youngian legend.
Neil Young Old Ways

The 80s are probably the last frontier of Young, considering that almost everything has been said about the masterpieces from other decades. As I wrote in my reviews of "hawks and doves" and "re-actor," there are various gems to be found even in this troubled decade. Unfortunately, that’s not the case with "old ways," which I consider Neil's worst album by far. He was simply poking fun at everyone (his myth above all). Excellent review.
Thin White Rope The One That Got Away

I bought this double CD in Florence in 1998, in a store near the station: I paid 78,000 lire for it, and since then I’ve kept it as a relic. One of the most underrated bands of the '80s, even by much of the press that didn’t look beyond Sonic Youth. Everything is magical within these grooves, from Kyser's voice to the haunting guitar intertwining, to some of the most interesting lyrics in the entire US scene, like "Not your fault." We won’t forget them, that’s for sure.
Audioslave Revelations
Voto:
anto, Audioslave leaves me indifferent: in fact, I rated this album 2. As for de la Rocha, I only pointed out that he could at least have kept quiet instead of announcing a masterpiece that feels as far away as "Chinese Democracy" by Guns N' Roses.

A splendid review, very personal and intimate, for an album on which one could write treatises... but zigghio's words beautifully define the content.
