Anthrax Live: The Island Years

They were indeed important; if I'm not mistaken, they were among the first to blend rap and metal, or at least to collaborate with a rap group (long before the advent of nu-metal). Today, something like that would be seen as an abomination, but back then it didn't shock as much. So in a sense, they are pioneers. Personally, among the "big four," my favorites are Megadeth, whom I consider the best technically, at least in the lineup from Rust in Peace! Anyway, they're all great bands; the thrash scene of the 80s was truly filled with amazing bands!

Well, I don't think I'll ever listen to it. Your assertion that there’s little identity makes me think of the usual side project, with a lot going on but too scattered, like Ayreon or bands of that kind. Very good review, but I know you can do better...

I agree with Lethe: historically important, but personally for me in the thrash scene there were better options, although it's a matter of taste, because objectively Anthrax are a great band!
A review that's a bit too brief, you're saying too little!
Red Hot Chili Peppers The Uplift Mofo Party Plan

I listened to several songs from this album that really pack a punch. Unfortunately, the Red Hot of the '80s haven't existed for a long time. The kids who give this album a one should be ashamed, and not for the rating, but because you haven't actually listened to the album. If you knew the Red Hot of the '80s, you’d at least have a bit of respect for the band, considering they are among the fathers of crossover. Giving it a one and acting all high and mighty by saying that the Red Hot are crap now, even bringing MTV into the discussion, makes you ridiculous, because this album has nothing to do with MTV. Instead of trying to sound clever, just keep quiet next time.
Him And Love Said No

love mortal? But isn’t it love metal the album? Or maybe I don’t know ā€œlove mortalā€!. The review is pleasurable to read and flows well, even though there are a few inaccuracies. The HIM do not play dark rock or gothic, they are certainly influenced by it, but those are just influences. The band ventures into rock territories with a good dose of romanticism; they aren’t even metal (at least in Razorblade Romance, which is the only album I’ve listened to). Anyway, they’re an excellent band, often criticized by those who have listened to at most one or two songs.

Mom, how much ignorance there is from Sanjuro and those so-called metalheads. Brizz89, you probably won't read this, but I'm writing it anyway: what the hell does it mean that Sepultura makes a more original thrash? Sepultura doesn't play thrash. Sanjuro, what the hell do Metallica have to do with hardcore? This genre, like thrash, has been influenced by punk but has taken different paths; each has said something new in its own way, and both genres, once they reached their peak, started to annoy everyone because there were now clone bands upon clone bands. Let me remind you that Metallica have been playing since 1983; they are a very old band, or maybe you thought they were born with the Black Album? Yours is a typical punk mentality that hates anyone who plays music in a defined way and trashes progressive and 70s hard rock because it’s played by musicians who don’t get heated up in front of their instruments but actually play them. So wash your mouth out before spouting bullshit like others do around here.

I listened to some of the early Sentenced and I must say they are very different from The Cold White Light or Funeral Album, but I found them quite intriguing.
Hypocrisy Abducted

great review and a CD that I really like, unique and that strays far from the stereotypes of Swedish death metal, Hypocrisy is a world of its own, no one sounds like them. I would give it a 4.5.
