Ephel Duath Pain Is Necessary To Know

I was referring a bit to you and a bit to dying sun. Sorry if I came off as a bit offensive; maybe I exaggerated with my tone! A few weeks ago, I saw them live, and they made a wonderful impression on me. Instrumentally, they are monsters, which we already knew, but they really know how to own the stage (the singer is a bit over the top, during instrumental breaks he mingled with the audience, and while singing, he came into the crowd to mess with us ee) and the sound is very clean, plus they are serious musicians who even use sheet music and metronomes. I recommend listening more closely to "the painter's palette" where the albums have their own logic and coherence that can't be grasped on the first listen, and especially in that album, we can still talk about songs, despite their non-linear structure, while in the latest album, from what I've read, they have become even stranger!

Great album, it doesn't get the highest rating because you can tell that the classical instrumentation and choirs are not original; this isn't a bad thing, but sometimes it can all come off as a bit too artificial. Anyway, subjectively for me, it's an album with beautiful songs and quite original in its field. My favorite is "nightside of eden"!

Dear Vito Alberto, to say that the early Red Hot made noise suggests you might not have an ear for funk sounds. If the Red Hot make noise, then what do grind or brutal bands do? It’s a matter of habits and taste. I find the early Red Hot more brilliant, but ultimately, it’s all about personal preference. I don’t know if the album is worth listening to, but if someone says it’s different from By the Way and that in some parts it captures past sounds, then maybe it deserves a chance!

Honestly, those who criticize Ephel Duath have only listened to them a maximum of two or three times, or maybe they've seen them live without knowing their studio work. The previous album, "The Painter's Palette," is one of the best Italian works in recent years, not just in metal; in fact, it is definitely offensive to categorize their proposal into a single genre.
Even more sincerely, those who compare Ephel Duath to those idiots Carnival in Coal and see their music as a jumble of sounds thrown together at random really don't get it—no matter how subjective opinions are, bullshit should be avoided. I don't know this album yet, but I will definitely make it mine!

Congratulations on the review, especially for the introduction that sets the backdrop for Beethoven's experiences. Deafness perhaps truly gives the effect of being estranged and alone in the world!

the comparison you made is a bit forced, but you are right when you say that rap is not music (I don't say this in a derogatory sense) on this you are correct, so what’s important in this genre is the lyrical content, if that is crap then nothing is saved!

Look at the coincidences! I discovered this album several weeks ago! Very unique, I think it has influenced (like a bit of all epic metal) also doom a little! Baker's voice is the most out of tune (along with that of the 80s Exodus singer) I've ever heard, pure rage and hatred, but it fits well in the context; you just have to get used to it, because indeed the first listens can be a bit disorienting due to the voice!

A true masterpiece for sure! However, you could have mentioned the last track "Vital Signs." In my opinion, it adds something new and especially foreshadows the electronic phase of Rush and the reggae influences that will appear in the next two albums. Anyway, really an excellent review, and it could have easily fallen into the mundane, but you didn't!
