THE REVIEW

And here we have one of the lowest points reached by Italian music: the album by Mondo Marcio.

This review was written after the excellently crafted review by McSampyr on the rapper's blog, where various users under the names of Marcio, 33 giri, and La dema have called Mondo Marcio a...... wait for it, because I'm finding the courage to write it....... it's difficult........... POET.

Yes!!! Music lovers, you heard it right P-O-E-T. After such a statement, one might say: "Damn, these people have been drinking!!!" but no, just visit the blog to check for yourself. Anyway, now to prove to the various rappers that Mr. Mondo Marcio is anything but a poet, we will make a comparison between a text of his titled "Dentro la Scatola" and one by a true Italian poet: Mogol titled "Emozioni". Here is the text of the alleged poet:

"Yeah Man.... there's something wrong man... THERE'S NO ONE! Because you see a few years ago I saw mom and dad in a box behind two psychiatrists and I was just a kid... a kid!! and they say it happens but don't shoot yourself bro leaf through my soul and you will see that I was so close.... so close!!! Fuck you, Fuck you, Fuck this place I'm still not clear why I'm here with all these assholes I don't know I've heard someone talk about insanity: mental maybe someone will want to hurt a bro but what sin have I committed to deserve being here waiting like an animal in captivity it hurts my stamina rises fill the burden in my head bro all these people who enter stay take it for uninvited at my non-party something I don't want and that my soul detests but as soon as I look at the name on the sheet it answers to my next step: my God! you want to know how they killed my uncle of how dad made mom feel bad of how mom drank when she was out of town my brain goes down and down I've answered your questions for hours now I can't take it anymore give me a couple of minutes before I flinch let me recover no bro let me out!! Because you see a few years ago I saw mom and dad in a box behind two psychiatrists and I was just a kid... a kid!! and they say it happens but don't shoot yourself bro leaf through my soul and you will see that I was so close.... so close!!! Whether it's the hospital or jail you won't see your parents tonight so close your eyes and think of what mom was like in the kitchen preparing something warm but now I have a cellmate who can't stay calm he pisses himself just because mom isn’t there and you know if the guards come they will also clean you the bad life, the one you can't live without dealing bro I gave four years to social assistance I’ll be precise I'm an open case for four years and a court of four jerks still hasn't paid me the damages a rotten apple is psycho like dad now I do it on the other side I hang with the bros I sell in town!!! Because you see a few years ago I saw mom and dad in a box behind two psychiatrists and I was just a kid... a kid!! and they say it happens but don't shoot yourself bro leaf through my soul and you’ll see that I was so close... . so close!!! They say a Marcio is strong a Marcio who doesn’t give up valid images for when you're on the ropes it's tragic that such an innocent kid can get to travel with murder in mind man I've done therapy nothing is over indeed it got worse but it served those people I scream for my favorite nightmare always a psychiatrist told you that he succeeded? he lies!! he knows why it doesn't go well, in this fucking society they put a sixteen-year-old in chains leave a Bubba free to go PA-PA!! on his family while the kids ask dad, why why, dad and run away in the closets you see the parents' mistakes fall on the children sometimes I wonder what would have happened if that day in December had stopped!! Because you see a few years ago I saw mom and dad in a box behind two psychiatrists and I was just a kid. . . a kid!! and they say it happens but don't shoot yourself bro leaf through my soul and you will see that I was so close.... so close!!! oh.... yeah man!!!...."

Well listen to that truly touching poetry. Anyway, now to conclude the comparison here is the text by Mogol, "Emozioni":

"To follow with your eyes a heron above the river and then find yourself flying and lying happy on the grass to listen to a subtle sadness And at night to pass with your gaze over the hills to discover where the sun goes to sleep To wonder why when sadness falls deep in your heart like snow it doesn't make noise and to drive like a madman with the lights off at night to see if then it's so hard to die And to clasp your hands to stop something that is inside me but is not in your mind Understand you cannot you call them if you want emotions you call them if you want emotions To come out of the moorland in the morning where you cannot see a step ahead to find yourself To talk about this and that with a fisherman for hours and hours so as not to feel that inside something dies And to cover a green plant with earth hoping that one day a red rose will grow And to punch a man just because he was a bit rude knowing that what burns are not the offenses and to close your eyes to stop something that is inside me but is not in your mind Understand you cannot you call them if you want emotions you call them if you want emotions"

I believe that with this comparison (oh my goodness there's no competition) you understand who the real poets are and who the puppets are. Finally, I hint at my opinion on Italian rap (not that American rap is good, rap is pathetic, it isn't music, it's just words put into rhyme without musical instruments, anyone can do it, it doesn't take any particular talent). This genre in Italy will never be at the level of the American one because ours is simply a poorly made imitation of theirs.

And so let's flush down "Fabri Fibra", "Mondo Marcio", "Cor Veleno" (what kind of name is that) they are the ruin of music.

TO ALL THOSE WHO THINK AND HAVE SAID THAT MONDO MARCIO IS A POET I SAY ONLY ONE THING: SHAME

Summary by Bot

This review strongly criticizes Mondo Marcio's self-proclaimed poetic rap style, highlighting a stark contrast between his lyrics and those of true Italian poets like Mogol. It argues that Italian rap is a poor imitation of American rap and lacks musical and lyrical depth.  This is the story of a Marcio, who left for the other world and never returned.

Because in the end there will be no more Mondo Marcio, Wars or nonsense, in the end there will only be music, and the best of it man!

Mondo Marcio has been in the hip hop world for years (around 4), he makes his own beats, lyrics are a bit superficial... but I don’t judge him for this.

Mondo Marcio is not the hip hop as I mean it and some other guys... if you’re going to talk about hip hop, don’t bring up mondo as an example... listen to some freestyle... then talk to me...
