Marillion Clutching At Straws

I would say that rather than the standards of '70s rock, it resembles, in my opinion, much more the sound of the '80s. I'm sorry, but I disagree with some things you've written, which are somewhat imprecise and/or misrepresented. Torch, a key character in the album's lyrics, is an alcoholic and drug-addicted writer (on the cover, besides him, in line at the bar are Robert Burns, Dylan Thomas, Truman Capote, and Lenny Bruce: all people who had problems with alcohol during their lives), and there's a lot of Fish in him during that period, leading many to believe there’s a vaguely autobiographical flavor to it. He should represent a new subject after "the Jester trilogy," the character you call the jester who appears in the lyrics and covers of their three previous works. "Warm Wet Circle" is the damp circle left by the glass on the table. "Going Under" appears, for the first time, only on the CD: in the vinyl version (at least the one printed in Italy), the song is not included...
That's alright, I really appreciate your unwavering love for them; you remind me of someone...
P.S.: I think you've slightly exaggerated by calling Fish's career dazzling; what do you think?

There are just a few of us, in the boot, listening to this stuff: in the end, I thought that one day, after overcoming the ancient and omnipresent laziness that has gripped me for some time now, I would be the first to review an IQ album. But my procrastination has won again; the result is good, even if I would have preferred more thoughts on the tracks and less on the band members. But these are the usual musings about trivial matters. The bands of the neo-prog era from those years have many influences, and I wish we could stop always comparing them to Genesis: it's an unfair comparison, too easy and repeated to the point of boredom. Don’t take it personally: it's not that I want to criticize you just for the sake of it, but let’s stop thinking that after Genesis there was only room for offspring and stepchildren... especially since IQ themselves have shown they can go beyond, whether people like it or not.

Simply a great album! That's all...

I must admit that, due to my chronic laziness, you got ahead of me in reviewing this album: I honestly think I couldn't have done better, anyway. It means I'll have to give it a shot with the other two missing albums (even though some consider the self-titled one a mini-CD...)

Dusk is not forgotten, quite the opposite. Have you noticed that if you extend the reviews, you don’t write any nonsense and people appreciate them even more?

I had already appreciated your words regarding the review of "Script..." by Marillion: now, as a stakeholder, I take this opportunity to thank you.
P.S.: I've been following Hawley since the beginning, I owed him that!

I think you need to indulge in a nice feast of prog, from yesterday and today, at 360°: then try your hand at a review of the genre, otherwise you might just end up looking foolish, take it from a fool...
