I wouldn't be so harsh, it's true that the best things came early on, but in albums like Mascalzone Latino and Non calpestare... I think there's still a desire to break free from the usual patterns. In the 1995 album, there were tracks like Anima and Fumo Nero that, in my opinion, can be listed among his best pieces (after that I acknowledge there was darkness...)

In my opinion, Uncle Pino has renounced much of his previous work (who knows why), have you noticed that in concerts he never performs songs from the 84-89 period? (maybe only "Anna Verra" and not even that often..)

But is it true that in the beginning he did a tour with Battiato?

Great live performance, but I prefer "e sona mo"; in my opinion, with the acoustic instrumentation, Uncle Pino gives his best.
Mister No, but weren't you supposed to review Musicante? If you can, include some samples; I can't because I only have Pino Daniele's best albums on cassette.
Francesco de Gregori Viva l'Italia
Voto:
It's a good album, a sort of watershed between the first and second phase of De Gregori, but it is penalized by being released right after a masterpiece like "De Gregori."
Ivano Fossati Macramè
Voto:
It was the album with which I discovered the greatness of Fossati, a masterpiece from the first to the last note; from then on, I listened to many other works, but this one remains unsurpassable for me.

Do you know on which albums by Uncle Pino Mel Collins plays?

Uncle Pino is at his best here! Angry and melancholic, fabulous solos, but albums like Musicante and Bonne Soireè also deserve a reevaluation.
