LA RECENSIONE

This album from 1996 is the debut record of Max Gazzè.

The work is still quite raw, but already outlines what will become the artist's style in the years to come, especially in the lyrics: beautiful, complicated, philosophical, and somewhat abstract.

".

The major flaw of this album lies in the music and arrangements, making the majority of the tracks truly unmelodic and not at all captivating; after listening, very little remains. After the first listen, I find myself skipping through tracks looking for the significant ones, quickly passing through almost everything... not much stays with me.

However, there are three tracks that can be largely salvaged, more mature, melodic, and nicer than the others: the beautiful opening of "Quel Che Fa Paura", the splendid first piece of the CD that really gave me hope, "L'Eremita" with a fantastic text, and finally the fun, playful, and sweet "Sono Pazzo Di Te". The lyrics are truly remarkable, but that's not enough to make a great album...

"Quel Che Fa Paura
".

Summary by Bot

Max Gazzè's 1996 debut album features deep, philosophical lyrics that hint at his future style. However, the music and arrangements are mostly unmelodic and fail to engage. Three tracks stand out for their melody and lyricism, but overall the album struggles to leave a lasting impression.

An album that can be considered a manifesto of Gazzè's rawer side.

The work was so well appreciated that it was advertised by none other than Franco Battiato.
