Alright, well, those are personal opinions: if he finds Gilmour's voice in "Fat Old Sun" ridiculous, that's his problem. For me, it's a masterpiece, but I'm not exactly objective, since I haven't yet found a Pink Floyd song that can score an eight instead of a nine or ten, including the solo works.
"Echoes" is a masterpiece, another step toward "Dark Side."
Starting from "Interstellar Overdrive," then moving on to "Saucerful of Secrets," "Atom," "Meddle," and then there's that one, the dark side. I've always thought that the first part of the Floyd's career (from "Piper" [but to a lesser extent] to "Obscured by Clouds") was made up of albums and songs that HAD to lead to "Dark Side." That's the crux of it all.
