The lyrics of Vietato... by Jumbo. They are still ahead even today...

@romeo... well done, Tito Schipa Jr... @signorprog... not always, if I think of Vairetti from Osanna (L'Uomo one of the best albums ever, for me) or the first Sorrenti, Rocchi, Banco... leaving aside Stratos who was an alien... an album like Ys by Balletto with a less "white" voice would have rightfully entered the pantheon of world music of all time... :-))

De De Lind, Aktuala, the first Battiato (wow), Osage Tribe, Terra in Bocca dei Giganti, Saint Just, Stormy Six, Ibis, Carnascialia, Capsicum Red, Pierrot Lunaire... it seems to me it was a truly productive period, with high quality and indeed there was a certain naivety and sometimes the singing in Italian clashed, detracting from the impact of the music, which was always of excellent quality, though...

Reverse of the Medal, Garybaldi, Alluminogeni, Trip... people who were ahead (musically) even of the English "masters." There are at least twenty masterpiece albums among the names mentioned in the comments above... not to mention Aria by Sorrenti or Volo Magico nr.1 by Rocchi.

Impeccable review Doc... but after 70, Leo has had more than a few drops in quality... 6 & 12, Mudlark, and Greenhouse remain his masterpieces.

Good evening to all those present. I never really loved the Black Keys, even after repeated listens, although there was something that made me say, "Yet these guys have something of..." Then last week, an old friend came with this work... and off I went, I fell in love. This is the American music I’ve been searching for over the past few years... I understand the doubts of those who love the rawness of the Keys, but the introspection of this album hit me hard right away (especially since it's a bit of a tough moment for me), precisely for its showcasing a part of its "soul" by retracing many musical "genres" that are particularly dear to me... on gut feeling, it will be among the top 3 albums of 2009; I don't want to risk saying it's the first, although it will be tough to beat. Thank you again and good night...
