I totally agree with UhpanicoUh… I enjoyed the movie even on my second and third viewing, and the review is really well written.

The albums of Big Star influenced future musicians immensely while having little impact on the general public (something I have always considered a sign of genius)... of course, Chris Bell was the ideal friend/enemy for Alex; indeed, what they created together in the early 70s he never managed to come close to again... long live the great star.

I always manage to agree with supersoul (generally speaking). Stray Cats better than Chilton or Cramps... blasphemy..!!! One who wrote In The Street (Big Star #1) can then do more or less whatever he wants... good job, Bubi, I think genius (in some of his compositions) fits him perfectly...

I should start by saying it's a 5 all the way, no ifs or buts... even though I somewhat agree with my friend psychopompe regarding the slight (for me) inferiority of volume 1. Like my friend psycho, I believe Your Body Not Your Soul by the Dutch band is the pinnacle of this collection (at least among the groups I wasn't aware of before), but I would also mention Pictures of Matchstickmen by Status Quo, Love, Hate Revenge by Episode Six (some of them would later form the future Deep Purple), and Vacuum Cleaner by Tintern Abbey as fundamental pieces from the 60s. They are dazzling in their brilliance... @popolo, you've done a great job, and it’s a pleasure to disagree on the details, because the underlying love for certain works from Rhino, I believe, unites all of us who are here. Well done, really well done!

Beautiful review... concise and heartfelt. Well done. This is the step towards their (in my opinion) masterpiece Bass Paradis... great also in Loschi Dezi.
