Not bad the manual of the young no new york!;-) In fact, many groups and artists should probably learn from it. Anyway, I'm not saying that everyone should sound like MBV or Pavement, but they definitely shouldn't sound like Vasco Rossi's latest album either… (I’m speaking generally, not about The Smiths). There should be a "genuine" and honest production combined with the most personal touch possible for each instrument. All this to avoid standardization and stereotypes.

Crazy stuff this review... Anyway, "There is", Totti may be a show-off (and I'm saying this as a Romanista), but how damn expressive was he the year of the scudetto... and when he scored that goal against Samp with that volley...

A good album, but in my opinion the review is a bit exaggerated.. I find the voice of the lovely singer to be a bit sterile.

Totti is a show-off, but a great footballer, and deep down he can afford it. The DTs are show-offs and a great pain in the ass, and they can't afford it. I imagine it was an "orgasm" when they played the tracks from Systematic Shit..

The album is indeed negligible, but the FF are not among the worst of the revival scene in my opinion; maybe it's because after listening to the Editors (truly terrible), everything else seems more acceptable. After all, the most unfortunate episodes of this album are just those two "covers" of the Beatles; the other songs remain on a normal mediocrity, and some pieces aren't that impersonal. This album is better than "Room on Fire" for me. 2.5

WHAT AN ALBUM! WHAT SUBLIME METAL!

Well, there are many songs with acoustic elements that tend toward a raw and rugged production (thus more original), like "Poledo" by Dinosaur Jr or many songs by the Violent Femmes, not to mention Leonard Cohen, Calexico, Yo La Tengo, and about 6-7 billion other artists and bands I could name that are anything but metal. Not to mention that Dimmu Borgir, apart from one album (For all Tid, the first if I'm not mistaken), are the masters of pristine and baroque production, with those exaggerated and pompous orchestrations. Maybe some albums by Darkthrone or Marduk would fit our case better. But the fact is that even "Cast No Shadow" by Oasis (great song) is, for me, better than many songs on this album... at least the rhythm of the drums seems more dynamic than a lot of the songs on "The Queen Is Dead", you know. And the song itself is by far less pathetic and redundant than "Never Had No One Ever". But even "Face of Melinda" by Opeth, look (to get back to metal), is much better...
