Brian May didn't invent anything? Come on... he built his guitar by himself, and Christ, it has an u-n-m-i-t-a-b-l-e sound that has made generations of guitarists envious... you can certainly say that Queen's albums, except for 3 or 4, don't manage to maintain the same quality level across all tracks (with some quite notable dips), but Mercury and May as songwriters possess a rare melodic talent. There are tons of beautiful songs in Queen's repertoire when viewed in retrospect, something few rock-pop bands can boast of (and it's worth noting that we're talking about a rock-pop band; if you're looking for particular experimentalism, it's clear you'll not find it).

If he truly had taste and not arrogance, he would have taken care of the entire album, not just the guitar parts: I've got Mayhem, I know Extremist, don't tell me the non-guitar parts don't sound like MIDI... and the lyricism of certain solos is more about pathetic, sugary sentimentality, in my opinion. Anyway, let’s do a nice De gustibus as always, because it suits people like you who enjoy dialogue. Not with certain pathetic anonymous ones.

These reviews are really beautiful, very heartfelt. But when I read nonsense like "from an objective point of view, Brian May, Roger Taylor, and John Deacon can be considered mediocre," I just don’t get it. What would that objective point of view be? And then, Brian May is a mediocre musician?? Guys, think about it a billion times before writing things like that. Pure style... but I mean... And if Freddy isn't on Olympus, one of the greatest voices in history, someone in front of whom even Plant admitted he couldn't reach him, and I'm talking about Plant; not to mention, a great pianist and composer. Everyone has their own tastes, but how can you call musicians mediocre? I can't wrap my head around it.

Burns, what the hell are you still doing here?

Damn, you’re a bit far away. They are “The Spiral,” by the way I know them personally because I was supposed to be their sound engineer (but then I didn’t have a shred of time and had to give it up)...

Even better! A GIRL WHO LOVES NIN! INCREDIBLE!! Where are you from? If you're around Florence, on April 7th there’s a NIN cover band that totally rocks, they're amazing...

Hey Regular, it seems we have a common passion: I mean, you like NIN, right? Come on! Finally found someone!

Sexyajax, whether you like it or not, this is a review site, so if everyone writes about the album of memories, the site just gets clogged with nonsense. The organ inside the rib cage is meant to write reviews, sure, but it also requires a bit more style. So don’t take it the wrong way and tell your friend to keep going but to put in just a little bit more effort.

You are absolutely right; in fact, the comparison between grunge and hair metal came up after I responded to a rather debatable comment from Enrico about not knowing how to play solos (or not wanting to play them)... so we are stuck now. As for Malmsteen, let's forget it because I think at this point a nice "De gustibus" applies. Bye, see you next time.
