I would be so ashamed that I would consider suicide.

I feel sorry for him/her...

I don't think the issue of voice is that important... let's say that bands like the Pixies (certainly Black Francis is not Edith Piaf), Melvins, etc., have been successful...

I understand that it’s probably the most decent album by Giovanotti... but as usual, it always comes a bit late to the party... let's say he's borrowed various styles/bands/songs from at least 10 years ago.

Moreover, the cover photo looks like it was made with a rendering worthy of AutoCAD.

I would be inclined to give it a 4, but I need to listen to it more. In my opinion, it's one of the most original and classy acts in recent years... even though it's true that some works have been somewhat lacking, they always put their hearts into it.

As for Vasco Brondi... I don't understand why this association. Let's say that participating in the "reissue" of "canzoni blabla" doesn't automatically create a connection... Vasco Brondi is also a young man, and I think he did an excellent job... He justifiably has to expect and accept criticism. In my opinion, he made a great debut; in this environment, it's more challenging to maintain results and expectations rather than break through with just one album.

The comparison with De André (obviously) is exaggerated... we're talking about roughly 35 years of difference... as has been rightly pointed out, Giorgio Canali has a completely different background in a more contemporary and aggressive historical context. Let's say that Canali could be a bit like the Claudio Lolli of today, there you go... ;-)

@ugly: I often hear people talk, write, and sing about grand theories as if they were some kind of equation... and it’s in those moments that I prefer to hear stories of window cleaners, ended loves, de André made songs with down-to-earth topics and it’s for the simplicity and impact they have that turned those songs into masterpieces.
