Yeah, that stunning trio of films by the great Di Leo. I really enjoyed "I Ragazzi Del Massacro" too, with minutes and minutes of questioning the kids who committed the crime; you really feel the atmosphere of the police station and the underworld, a verismo cinema that draws directly from Sergio Leone. Damn, you watch a John Wayne film and see grotesque little men dressed in fuchsia, with pants freshly out of the laundry and lines like "Hey babe, give me a beer because I have to arrest the bad guys"... Sergio Leone made you breathe the characters, he’s as verghiano as few. Well, I love talking about cinema and music, I’ll stop now :)

A wonderfully heartfelt review, ahh anyway, another merit of Nirvana besides their music is their ability to shine a spotlight on a myriad of underground realities. Some have forgotten them, but there are those who have gone further and explored all the references of the Seattle trio, from Dinosaur Jr. to Scratch Acid to Butthole Surfers, and even to completely wild groups like Os Mutantes.

Hehe Zion, we have similar tastes! Today I'm in an extreme mood for Napalm Death and then Half Japanese, a combination that every metalhead would love ^_^ I remember Testi for La Via Della Droga by the great Castellari, who signed off on a variety of films, including the poliziottesco, the war film (Quel maledetto treno blindato), and the western (Keoma). But the peaks of Italian pulp films are, in my opinion: Milano Calibro 9 by Di Leo, Milano Odia by Lenzi, and an underrated gem like L'ultimo treno della notte by Aldo Lado. I think Sam Raimi, Tarantino, and Ferrara must watch their films 34,235 times a day... Dream Theatre can’t hold a candle to the main themes of the films by Argento, Mario Bava, and company ;)

Tabba in D-Shirt is a fan of mine ^_^. Great contribution to the site then: 0 reviews, you signed up just to "insult me," what luck! ............. Speaking of the album, for me this is the definitive masterpiece of the Melt, I also have Cell-Scape, Speak Squeak Creak, and 13,000 miles at light velocity, but what they do on scratch or stitch is the rio mare of tunas.

I have Saetia on repeat, and I'm always struck by how they manage to alternate those piercing screams with exquisitely Doors-like arpeggios, but no, what am I saying... those strokes can't be categorized. Truly great, and completely underrated. And there will always be someone who says, "Oh, rock is dead now," stupidly chasing those overused '70s sounds; a glimpse of rock has really come from the names you mentioned in the review, even if no one has ever noticed.

Thanks to easycure for the comment, now I find you definitely more likable ^_^ ... Zion, I think the problem with sonic terrorism, or with noise that's more candidly white, is the lack of ability of the bands to DIFFERENTIATE the noise they produce. I like the Locust, but they often come across as a monotonous mass even after multiple listens. The peculiarity of this Scratch Or Stitch, however, lies in dispelling repetitiveness in favor of a varied and ultrasonically creative style at the same time. When someone says, "Ahaha, but what genre is noise? Just make noise and you get a song," they're right; they only get one. Only the most inspired bands can make noise with hues and harmonic twists that always manage to surprise you. And this ability, for me, the Melt in Scratch Or Stitch possess, while the Locust in Plague Soundscapes have it in much lower percentages. It's obvious that concepts like REPETITIVENESS, CREATIVITY, VARIEDNESS, and INSPIRATION are rooted in pure subjectivity, so... I have to go :)
