I owned such a "nice" little disc by the late Death SS; I bought it second-hand, curious about its gloomy cover, but I got rid of it a few years later, considering my lack of listening (although I do remember the first track...). For genre enthusiasts, it’s definitely a must; I personally prefer to stay more at ease and delight my ears with something less gloomy.... Sorry, I have to go because Count Wurdalack has called me flap flap flap... ahuu ahuu ahuù...

Great first review!! Go nacco..(nacco??) and good for them even though I believe the early works are unbeatable!

I love them!! Even though this is an album by the Byrds that I'm missing (I think I know the songs because I have them in some compilations, I've downloaded them, etc...), they are considered by me (and not just me… I count like the two of spades) one of the greatest bands of all time, able to influence different musical styles with their sound—now folk, now rock, now psychedelic, now country—as well as being the bearers of that sound defined as jingle-jangle (? I think...) typical of McGuinn's guitar... I absolutely adore their covers of Dylan, maybe even more than the originals... and what about the album Fifth Dimension??? Fabulous. In fact, I’m about to finish listening to Starsailor and then I’m going to pop one of their CDs into my player!! Here it is, Mr. Tambourine Man!! All I really want to do is baby be friends with you!! Damn, I have to go because I need to work… it’s Sunday, but I’ve got a little overtime to take care of. Their songs ooze that fabulous sixties-seventies vibe but they are never old, they don’t seem dated, right?!! P.S. I thought it was strange that no one had reviewed an album by the Byrds yet… maybe I’ll do one too, but when it comes to sacred monsters, you have to tread carefully...

..I’m arriving late...they are really really good!!! I saw them live as the opening act for Sophia in Milan. Down-to-earth guys without a care in the world...They were louder in concert than on the album. A full five for one of my favorite records from last year!!

..monsieur tia, gentle and polished wrecking crew...
I agree with you, this is their best album! There's that underlying roughness and desire to be against that is missing in the later ones. But even the second one, in my opinion, is not bad..

I don't know the CD in question, but I've approached the genre thanks to the Easy Tempo compilations, of which I recommend Vol.2 "the psycho beat" and Vol. 4 as mentioned earlier. I also recommend a magnificent CD that contains the "suspense" music composed by Ennio Morricone for crime films or thereabouts.. ("time for suspense"). Oh, I almost forgot the soundtrack by Osanna, a big band from the Seventies that completely scored "Milano calibro 9"... (even if the genre is more progressive oriented to be honest...)...Beautiful!!
