THE REVIEW

The most important garage punk band of all time, that's who the Sonics are.

In the year of "My Generation," "Out Of Our Heads," "Rubber Soul," the Sonics were already light years ahead of being understood, but by then the fuse was lit, nothing would be the same anymore. From this point on, any group that thought about cranking up the instruments would have to answer to the Sonics; originally from Tacoma (Washington), they released the single THE WITCH / KEEP A KNOCKING in 1964. Just these two tracks alone would be enough to secure their place in history, but it is the debut of the following year that captivates anyone who approached the SONIC source, with titles like "Strychnine," "Boss Hoss," "Walking The Dog," etc... For me, it is hard to find an album that matches HERE ARE THE SONICS in terms of violence and innovation, perhaps FUN HOUSE by the STOOGES, although conceived 5 years later.

I don't think there's anything more to add except enter the sonic vortex of the greatest and most honest band of all time, and you'll understand...
