Indeed... the shop in question has changed management and is now far less interesting than it used to be... even though -I must admit- when I pass by that way, the magnetic charm it exuded back then renews itself and my little heart beats a bit at the memory. Chapter on prices: the records were disgracefully expensive and I can't fathom how -being the broke student I was- I managed to fork out a whopping 34,000 lire for an import CD... (perhaps my mother's wallet remembers my incursions...). Enough with the memories though; with the kind of day it is today, I’ll turn off this infernal PC and go for a bike ride... wow!

Nice opening to the review; it made me think of "my" record store where I used to go back in college, hungry for new sounds and indifferent to the hours of class I obviously skipped... Messaggerie Musicali in Milan, in Porta Ticinese, with the scruffy owner Barbamunito. I still remember when - before a thesis review that I arrived late to... - I bought the Kyuss-QOTSA split and the first QOTSA album. Great review, you took me on a trip back in time... Now I return to the present and to work.

I liked the album in question by Michelazzo Spattone. He seems to be having fun and reminds me of a strange mix between Ricky Shaine, Shel Shapiro, and Mal grappling with Italian... The important thing is to never take yourself too seriously, and Pattone knows that. A solid 4 for the histrionic Mike!
