Look at the twists of life. Saturday night I was with an old friend I hadn't seen in a while, and we were reminiscing about the good old days, and in the midst of our conversation, we suddenly felt like throwing on Meantime. It was a blast, even better than I remembered.

This film has always been a bit of a fetish for me (I've been meaning to write a few lines about it for some time). What can I say, it encapsulates everything I’ve always wanted to see in a puppet movie. The musical-style song that glorifies homosexual sex is poetry, just like the flashbacks of the Vietnam veteran that fall somewhere between quotes from The Deer Hunter and Apocalypse Now.

I'm glad it’s still appreciated; in fact, it's one of the best psychedelic albums of the last few years. And between 2006 and 2007, there were some fantastic acid records released. Or more prosaically, I had double the time to listen to them.

@ramona: I only found the vinyl cover in really bad quality, so I had to use this one, but if you find it, send it because it’s nicer than this. @azzo: In the pairing of Pontiak-White Hills, I imagined Pontiak would lose; I figured the hills would seem more predictable live (and they basically are). But I think the album has a nice atmosphere, plus I like the vinyl tracklist. Are you talking about the latest Pontiak, Sea Voids? I don’t know, I’ve hardly listened to it and it didn’t say much to me. It’s just that I’ve almost given up on Pontiak...

Good evening. Let's go in order: I also spent over two years thinking about a possible review of Heads On Fire, then I got tired of it and moved on. This review has a strange effect on me because we talked about the hills with dear Trella; who knows if she would have liked this... It seems more varied than the previous one to me, as Bletch says, it's a roller coaster, at least in the sequence of tracks on the vinyl (in my opinion, more focused than those on the CD, with Glacial being quite superfluous), soft and then loud, crescendos and direct, hypnotic tracks. Nothing to say, chapeau. And I’m glad because last year the psychological situation was terrible; already this year it seems to have started better.

@odra: good to see you again, dear... I honestly don't even remember writing it, so I assume it’s not my own work. Plus, I’m not really a big fan of the La's. As for the link, I'm quite unprepared because I think I only have the vinyl copy left and I can't find the burned CD anymore. @lukino: yes, yes, the last one is quite enjoyable (I have the vinyl but I reviewed the unicuum with all the tracks, even though the cover that's out there is too small). Moon Duo on standby, they seem excessively monotone to me, even more than the Wooden Shjips (who will be releasing Vol II soon). Oh, there's also a new Grails coming out, Tar Prophecies vol 4.

Well, someone who can give me an opinion on the album. Not because I'm attached to this album, but even while I was writing I was unsure about the rating; it would have been a 3.5, maybe a 4 is excessive. You're right about Honey Bee, but looking closely, it's the most cliché, perhaps along with Golden Girl Of Spain. However, in my opinion, up until halfway through there are some interesting psychedelic peaks. Damn, they're selling the CD around at ridiculous prices; I got the vinyl on eBay for 15 euros, it could have been worse (it’s a double in electric blue vinyl).

Yes, but less than you think, at least on this record. I mean, they're definitely much more acidic than the BJM of the time, just to say. I need to find some time to seriously dedicate to Mondo Drag. The vocals are a bit strained, but musically they seem solid. In the meantime, I'll send the review of White Hills.

Look, I wanted to get the double because I have Ethipiques (mastered) for about 3/4 years and I also wanted to get it on vinyl, but I've never found it. So you don't recommend the double then?

Well, I'm glad at least someone knows it, dope! Actually, give me your opinion if you want. More than anything because apart from this one here, the rest of the asteroids is definitely very canonical, almost Brit-pop on some records. And I abhor guitar-based Brit-pop. @nes: I think you're mistaken, but thank you for reminding me that I needed to find that album (if I recall correctly, I think it was something like supersoul that reviewed it). @fiquissimo: I'm getting right to the listening, all I have of Nigerian stuff are the compilations from Strut, like Nigeria '70 and similar things, which you should buy just for the cover art. And you also reminded me that I wanted to buy and maybe review Mulatu, maybe the double Addis-Londo-Trebaseleghe. Seems like you like it, right? I instead recommend an awesome band... Yeasayer...
