In the end, I bought it on Amazon, my girlfriend loves it too. Pale Rider Blues always gets me excited.

That the Vikings arrived before Columbus is now (almost) a historical fact. And not just decades, but three hundred years earlier. They even clashed with the Indians. It would have been nice to see that confrontation. In any case, it's well known that the Vikings traveled extensively and were skilled traders too. Perhaps more traders than tireless warriors. I read some amusing Arab chronicles about the encounter with the Vikings in the Black Sea. The Arabs were quite disgusted by the uncivilized manners of the Northerners and frightened by their appearance and smell. And anyway, they didn’t go around with painted faces everywhere; they were not the Immortal or some foolish follower of Snorri's Edda. As I think you know, the berserkers consumed some nice aromatic herbs (but the Gauls did that too when caught in their "furor") and fought half-naked or with animal skins. Obviously, completely numbed, they felt no pain and fought like crazy. But beware of distinguishing myth from history.

perhaps the only truly progressive album that I like. Discovered recently but it struck me, Winter Wine is simply fabulous.

Well, Verdicchio is a regional passion, Hugo, it's a shame those bastards at Fazi Battaglia have tarnished its reputation all over the world. I can already consider still Lambrusco as wine; the sparkling one is just a soft drink. Even that highly praised one.

Indeed, I didn't mean to say that you thought that way; I understand how you interpret those years, and we’re more or less on the same wavelength. Perhaps I am terrified by a socio-iconographic return of that terrible decade.

"the natural charm of the protagonists, typical '80s loafers." As a kid, I found Jerry Calà and the Gatti di Vicolo Miracoli funny. However, I see "natural charm" as a somewhat subjective statement. Also, because this type of loafers has unfortunately carried on into the present day forcefully; just look at all these clean-shaven guys with their Polo collars turned up, their loser skinny pants, and their Garnier de Paris hair. I may have seen the film as a child, but I don't remember. Regarding intellectual pretensions, that reasoning and mindset feels a bit strange to me. I don’t know how you think, Velluto, but criticizing certain intellectual cinema (which implies a critique of intelligent cinema in general) has led to a reevaluation of trash cinema and given it a pseudo-nobility. I agree that there hasn’t been a distinction between High and Low culture for a while now, but giving dignity to products that were essentially consumer goods without any artistic purpose is acceptable only to a certain extent. I may be a conspiracy theorist, but since the Tangentopoli scandal, this reevaluation of the lowbrow has become not just a mania of a few, but a widespread obsession with the aforementioned consequences, which brings along nonsense like Lucignolo. After all, the people who watch it are those who consider the soldieress in "Grand Operations" worthy of cinematic respect.

Ah, let's see... My Wine? Great Wines of Italy? Il Corriere Vinicolo? Mille Vigne? Which one do you write for? I'm not crazy about wine magazines; in fact, often the wine terminology makes me itch to write something. But in the end, I think someone encountering music reviews might react the same way. Unfortunately, every field has its terminology, but that of wine, along with the annoying characters from Gambero Rosso or even worse, that pretentious literary figure Luca Maroni, really gets on my nerves.

Christ! Do I have to write it LIKE THIS? THIS REVIEW IS A JOKE! IT'S NOT THE WORK OF SOME ILLITERATE REVIEWER! IT'S TAKEN DIRECTLY FROM THE BOOK "AMERICAN PSYCHO" WHERE, IN THE SAME WAY, IT WAS A CLEAR PROVOCATION. I actually recommend reading it, and Einaudi, priced around €10.
