Roberto Benigni Pinocchio
Voto:
the worst version of Pinocchio (but maybe somewhere in the world, in some basement, there exists a crappy cartoon made by whoever that is even worse... I can imagine something worse than this monstrosity, but it's hard). a film that falls apart in every way, unwatchable and unbearable. a Benigni like we've never seen before (and I haven't seen La Tigre e La Neve yet... but I have to for chronological "obligation") and an ABSURD advertising campaign. a product more than mediocre. rating: 1.

The Wall. one of the most ignorant things I have ever seen.
Dimmu Borgir Stormblåst
Voto:
Honestly, I don't believe in the usefulness of a record like this. Given that there was already the other one (which frankly I’ve never liked much), and considering that nowadays Dimmu kind of suck. As I always reiterate when I comment on a review of this band, in my opinion, the quintessential Dimmu album is For All Tid. Beyond that, I don’t know what else to say. When a new album comes out, I usually download it, but many end up being deleted after the first listen. They have no more ideas. The problem is that if you have no ideas, damn it, don’t start making music.

Edgar Wright L'Alba Dei Morti Dementi (Shaun of the Dead)
Voto:
I saw it in bits a few months ago and honestly it didn't impress me much. Watching some sequences in the pub with the actors talking, it seemed to me like a film that was a bit too post-adolescent and youth-centric, anyway sweaty, anyway "too" youthful for my tastes. Maybe I was mistaken, but I repeat, I was in a big rush. Perhaps I should give it another go (or better yet, actually watch it) especially since there has been a lot of positive talk about this film. The publicity undoubtedly helps. In this regard, I can’t help but think of the back cover of Gozu (by Takashi Miike, whom I adore) where it says: "presented at Cannes, the film received a triumphant reception and an endless applause of over 15 minutes. More delirious than Jodorowsky, more hallucinatory than David Lynch, more visionary than David Cronenberg, here finally is Gozu." With expectations like that, I bought it sight unseen. In reality, the film, aside from a few possibly amusing bits but nothing more (besides the fact that many visual and narrative solutions are recycled from his previous and far better films), is frighteningly disappointing and even boring.
Francis Ford Coppola Dracula di Bram Stoker

this is certainly not a film that showcases any genius whatsoever. it really isn’t. i totally agree with the reviewer. the only scene that i save is the one with Vlad renouncing God. very powerful and dark. the rest is rabbit piss pregnant.

(p.s.2: re-reading the last part of the review... is it possible to "sing in unison" a piece by Cannibal?!)
