what a horrible album. hairdresser music. songs (all of them) absolutely meaningless.

Everything is good (even though I wanted you to be even more uncompromising, sometimes you drool over the fact that this or that piece "all in all is nice"). On the last consideration, the horse neighs high (great idea): Mudvayne are even worse than these. Download Lost And Found, it’s from 2005. And put on some nice sweaters and a steaming tachiflu, because it will give you shivers and cause nausea and bone pain. The point is this: trashing a band a few years after the album has come out and been forgotten is easy. The more gratifying (for you, and useful for others) is to do it while it’s still being born. When this "s(p)li(p)pk(p)not" came out, the ground was fertile. And in its own way, it was a necessary album (Limp Bizkit had completely embarrassed themselves, the Korn had momentarily left their brains at home) and many kids were happy about it. Those same kids were royally screwed over with the second album (a phenomenal piece of crap, even shameless). The nu-metal crossover was dead and buried under a pile of t-shirts.

(laughing) we’ve gotten to the point of addressing each other formally, I don’t know which is worse. this review was meant to fade into the background of its own. kosmogabri is right. there are too many damn things. and ā€œdamnā€ is a word that perhaps has more impact (more impact... more "reason"?) when spoken than when written. in the latter case, it sounds like when it's announced aloud. it self-deconstructs. it dies in its own right. it loses effectiveness and remains as mere text. empty, not even emptied. and to turn around, allow me, dear colleagues, since we are in the midst of a shit-epoch (we are, because it has been said even if it’s been said to be denied doubly), it is counterproductive to acknowledge (generally, I say generally because I am "one" general, NOT generational, but Gene-Rational) only to deny and pretend ideological apostasy. (laugh #2) come on... : the debate is at least taking an interesting turn... better than reading a serious review. we’re not exactly in a newspaper...

this review is the first one I've ever written. It's normal that you might find a lot of childishness, awkward phrasing, and other things that don’t hold up inside it.

A little indiscretion: it seems to me that at the time Autechre circulated Draft 7.30 to record labels not in CD version (and therefore with "clear" sound), but on audiocassette... hehehe, legendary.

I agree with your comment above. The early works are overrated compared to others like Chiastic Slide or Draft 7.30. When I went to buy Incunabula, I brought my CD player along, confident from the dozens of reviews I had read that extolled it to the nth degree. It was supposed to be the ultimate masterpiece of electronic music. I was on the bus on my way home, and just a few stops before getting off, I put the CD in. The player went haywire, and the tracks were read poorly. I couldn't understand anything, and it kept skipping. "Damn!" I thought, believing I had made an excellent purchase. When I got home, I put it on the stereo, and this time I was really taken aback. I found it - and still find it - incredibly boring. I took it back to the store that very night and exchanged it for Draft 7.30. A whole different ballgame...

Yes, MetallaroBionico, the CD and packaging are transparent. The only information (like the lengthy song titles or the names of the band members) is printed along the (transparent) sticker that wraps around the (transparent) case of the CD. Just like in the photo.
