I understand what you mean, zion; it can't be explained. Or rather, I could tell you what they represent for me, but I couldn't explain why they have such loyal fans (I hate this word, though). We talked about it a long time ago here on Debaser with...zzzzz, if I remember correctly, who was asking the same thing. When they debuted with WCS, they made a 'splash'; we're still talking about a band that isn’t in the Top Ten, obviously, but for a number of reasons, they achieved a success that went beyond any expectation, even theirs. Then again, they're not that "Alternative," come on; I mean, they wrote songs that are unique to most people, but also many (excellent) tunes that are very easy-listening, like Suds And Soda, which has the strength to appeal to pop chart listeners as well as those looking for something a bit more refined. But maybe, in a somewhat silly comparison, it's like that girl you really like, who opens up to you slowly and makes you work for it; you can't help but stick to her like a clam (kind of like that theorem by that Italian singer whose name I can’t remember :D). Zion, what questions are you asking? :)
