Leaving aside the usual anonymous ones (psycho, don’t get mad, come on :) )... Odradek, I will try to answer you, as I really love some groups defined this way. Shoegazer is not a proper musical genre; it was the term (in Italian, it would be "fissascarpe") used to describe the guitarists of those bands (late 80s-early 90s) for their attitude during concerts, namely being perpetually "hunched" over their instruments, never lifting their heads. This attitude was also due to the way they played the guitar (and I don’t know how much they capitalized on it), a "pollution" of the instrument :). Among these bands were definitely My Bloody Valentine, Spacemen 3, Slowdive, Jesus and Mary Chain. I mention the ones I know best, but there are others. They were a bit different from each other, some had psychedelic garage roots (13th Floor Elevators, Stooges, MC5): Spacemen, some were more strictly pop, like Jesus. My Bloody Valentine were and are a case apart, in my opinion. Unfortunately, I have never heard Galaxie.

LordHenry, why are you so defensive? I didn't have a rifle aimed at you. :) I read your first comment and thought you were referring to the Guapo, who are indeed unjustly snubbed. As for the petty squabbles of this funcia, I'm not interested. Regards.

Great, if the ones before are even better...thank you kosmo! Do you know who they remind me of in some songs for the rhythmic part? (and here I go...:) ) Neu!. Try listening to "Bells" from this album and then "Fur Immer (forever)" from Neu! 2.

Lord Henry, were you referring to the signature of the reviewer or the group?

I’ve only listened to Fake French, but I trust them. They are the best, zigghio is right, so much so that it almost feels ā€œoffensiveā€ to mention Franz Ferdinand, etc. :) If you like El Guapo, I also recommend the latest by Q And Not U, ā€œPower,ā€ which was produced by Cafarella and Cohen from El Guapo for a reason; it's a shame they broke up a few months ago.
