I fully agree with Aniel. We're talking about the album that is "objectively" well-made for all the reasons listed above, which I won't repeat. The fact that the Unplugged was broadcasted or has an MTV-like style (at least in this case) is almost irrelevant. Whether or not Clapton is liked is a matter of personal taste and is beyond dispute. The important thing is not to call into question the quality of Live... eh!

In my opinion, the long biographical notes better place the live performance in the gray context in which Clapton lived during that time, enhancing its value, precisely. Perhaps, as you say, I could have written a few more lines about the album, but I deliberately chose not to...
