Um... dear writer, "always-yours-modestly," please forgive me for responding with another question: for you... what difference does it make?
In any case (because asking is allowed, replying is courtesy), I would like to inform you that I was born in Corona (California) and returned to my non-native homeland at a young age, (son of immigrant parents, from the States to Sardinia); I have also resided repeatedly, for purely professional reasons, in Spain and Catalonia (Barcelona, Madrid, Valencia, and Zaragoza), in the United Kingdom (around London), and France (Paris-Pigalle).
Hoping to have pleased you, I send my warm regards. Your S.C. of (dis)trust.

A "little thing" wasn't adequately specified, dear de-reviewer.. this historic (in every sense..) album, although musically [considering the historical/musical context in which it saw the light.. (so to speak)] unmatched and on which I have absolutely "devastated" myself in my youth... (1986: really a lifetime ago), contains some of the most infamous and unacceptable lyrics that have EVER BEEN WRITTEN in the musical realm. Just to mention one of the shining examples contained within: "Angel of Death", recounting the exalted deeds of one of the darkest and indescribable figures in the entire recent history of humanity, Dr. Mengele (lowercase not by chance), is (according to the judgment of the humble writer of these lines) truly unbearable; anyone who believes they possess a minimal (really the bare minimum..) amount of common sense cannot accept, nor can they endorse, the inhuman monstrosity of certain stances. Tom Araya (unfortunately) has, on more than one occasion, demonstrated that he lacks "much tact," nor any sparse lucidity on the matter: one needs only to read some of his (to be kind) "embarrassing theories" shared during the Tour following the release of "R.I.B." regarding Pinochet's oppressive dictatorial regime in Chile... and its victims. Musically PERFECT yet textually ABERRANT. At 16/17 years old (of age), one can (also) pretend to overlook the lyrics... now, definitely, NO MORE. Thank you for your attention, (if there was any, of course). Your trusted S.C.

One thing the dear de-reviewer didn't mention... this album, although musically considered to be in an inimitable historical/musical context (1986... really a lifetime ago), contains some of the most infamous and unacceptable lyrics EVER WRITTEN in the musical realm. Just to cite a shining example among many contained within: "Angel of Death," detailing the exalted deeds of one of the darkest figures in recent human history, Dr. Mengele, is (in the opinion of the humble writer of these lines) truly unbearable; anyone who considers themselves to have even a modicum (really just a modicum..) of common sense cannot accept the inhumane monstrosity of certain stances: Tom Araya (unfortunately) has repeatedly demonstrated a lack of "tact," nor any scant lucidity on the matter: one only needs to read some of his (to be kind) "embarrassing theories" testified in the tour following the release of "R.I.B." regarding the oppressive dictatorial regime of Pinochet in Chile... and its victims.
Musically PERFECT yet textually obscene.
At 17/18, one can (also) overlook the lyrics... now, definitely, NOT ANY MORE.
Thank you for your attention, (if there was any, of course).

Congratulations on the de-review: if the album is as interesting and intriguing as your comment... we will truly be "dazzled" by such quality and intrinsic beauty.
While I wait to web-discover at least a few partial excerpts, to "feel-the-effect-it-has," I conclude by thanking you for your attention (if there was any). Your trusted S.C.

Congratulations on the more than descriptive/inviting de-review. What can I say but... I'm going to immediately look for the disc in question. Obviously, no rating for the album at the moment: trusting is good... but trusting your own ears (and synapses) is better.

Fully agreeing with the concluding sentence of your pleasant review, I would, however, like to express some reservations. It may be that I have exhausted my kidneys many times over pogoing to this beautiful little record... (heard upon its release, in the now more than archived 1985). Forgive me for daring to say so, but it seems somewhat reductive (given its historical importance and the subsequent consequences it had on the emerging/imposing Thrash/Pseudo-HC scene) that its merit rests (almost exclusively) in the duration of the vile/ridiculous tracks.
Scott "not" Ian (Anthrax) + Billy Milano (M.O.D.) + Charlie Benante (again Anthrax) and Dan Lilker (at the time Nuclear Assault) unknowingly produced (as you rightly point out) a work of quite revolutionary scope in the realm of "young and loud music" stateside (and beyond), even within the very bands of the individuals involved.
Kill Yourself, United Forces, or even Fuck The Middle East (...Bush really took them at their word!!), as well as all the tracks contained therein, truly represent the unreachable peak (and perhaps consequently the beginning of the decline) of a certain type of "grind-everything" sound with strong politically incorrect tones (we're talking about twenty years ago...).
Great record... Buy Or Die (as it reads on the legendary H/M). Muchas Gracias for your attention... assuming there was any. Your S.C. of (un)trust.

I do not understand one aspect (in my humble opinion fundamental) of several debaser-censors (and I am obviously not referring specifically to my horrifying musical reviews...): that is, the necessity/will (fideistically) CENSORIAL of their own or others' comments. Therefore: if I am not mistaken, the "disjointed" vote (event/album and review writing) has a very precise purpose; in extreme summary, it is not that just because one does not like the band, the comment of the reviewer should be despicable or highly appreciated in direct proportion. It seems to me that there sometimes exists a barricade (this indeed) of a strict need for denigration, a sort of all-encompassing derogatory necessity like the one quoted below (as respectable as it may be): I don't like them because... (I quote verbatim) "They make me shit! I keep wondering how they can make records!?" (a free correction of the original text)... (no offense intended), I might be wrong, but in comments of this nature dwells (beyond a not exactly Oxfordian syntax) an unreviewable "destructor" necessity out of context (of the two aspects mentioned above...), decidedly "dangerous" (at least for the writer). Thank God/Buddha/Allah/Confucius etc. etc. the Latins left us the lapidary motto "De Gustibus.." otherwise we would run incontrovertible risks. A respectful greeting to those who had the (considerable) patience to read the above. Your S.C. of (s)trust.
Neurosis Times OF Grace
Voto:
In all honesty (being a connoisseur of the entire Neurosis oeuvre), "State Of Grace" seems to me (..de gustibus) one of the least successful albums in the band's extensive production (less) Californian (one could imagine). Perhaps because it comes three years later (during which time the infamous side projects were very active) than the true (fake?) apocalypse of their best work, "Through Silver In Blood". As you rightly point out, it is an album of interdiction (..a nice way to say that an album is dangerously close to the aurea mediocritas), therefore one can gladly give it a listen (even repeatedly), but surely the peak of Steve Von Till & Company’s output does not reside within these grooves. Thank you for your attention (if there was any).

He speaks well (indeed very well), my dear (Good) Chimenti: everyone listens to what they "deserve": that is, a Latin-esque "DE GUSTIBUS" never really hurts...
Thank you for the moral and physical support (I know that if in the future I need to dust the chandeliers... you will come to my immediate rescue).

No pressure, don't worry: just a healthy and lush necessity + desire to listen.
The sfasciator (doesn't bring sorrow..) was not displeased at all.. malmsteen-eggiante or not of the guitar-hero ooooohhh/eggiante (De Gustibus Vol. 3).
A nos bidere (perhaps in front of a healthy mug... of still water) cun saluri.
