I believe it is not entirely clear to the de-readers what the name of the artist is, of whom you rA(c)COnta [just kidding, of course], of this (apparently) disorienting/intriguing "Irony." Not knowing either the artist in question or, obviously, the album, I thank you for the de-review. Your trusted S.C.

Frankly, I haven't had the chance to listen to the work in question, but if even a small part of what is described corresponds (I have no doubt about this, just to be clear) to reality (it even mentions the Davis of the late '60s...), I believe we will be facing a truly terrifying masterpiece. Thank you very much for the tip-off. Best regards. Your Sfasciatore di Carrozzibus.

Perhaps the oldest among you (gentle readers) will remember the phantasmagorical little column called "Kakka Metal," in the musty pages of the now-defunct biweekly (I believe 1987/88 or thereabouts) of the time, the infamous "Metal Shock" (I don't know if it still exists today): two little pages of filthy satire where one would (self)flagellate with ironic sarcasm and debauched wit... truly a MUST. Probably the Atroci (I hope and believe) passed through those parts in their youth... like the humble old scribe. Thank you for the de-signalization. Your trusted S.C.
Depeche Mode Playing the Angel

Not bad, dear old Depeche Mode, not bad at all...
Of course, "Speak And Spell," "Construction Time Again," and "Some Great Reward" (perhaps belonging to a "previous life" by now) had a much stronger wave/experimental push... but if only there were more albums like this from the "still living" veterans of the distant eighties.
Keep it up... the (musical) retirement home is still far away (thankfully). A hug. Your S.C. of (dis)trust.

Dear Hajime74, just to say that I completely agree with your intriguing de-review. A really beautiful/inspired new work for the undergrounds (now a little less.. thanks to you too) Calla: a group as overlooked as it is (truly) a bearer (healthy) of excellent and transversal music. A warm pat on the back. Your S.C. of (dis)trust.

I humbly ask for your forgiveness: I’m sorry, I wasn’t aware; I will see (if and when the opportunity arises again) to refrain from addressing you excessively with your unwelcome convoluted surname. A friendly greeting. Your Carriage-Wrecker.

Unfortunately, Max Cavalera continues undeterred to "experiment" (so to speak...) endlessly recycling the (already burnt/abused to nausea) script of Roots... I sadly wonder (aside from the vile dollar for the healthy loaf...) WHY?
Some pseudo-cerebralism/not fully metal "very cool" (in his view) cannot truly save the situation. If he wanted to perform this grim (light) music again, why didn’t he stay with his little brother bashing drums in Sepultura?
And this comes from someone who loved to madness (at release) the legendary Schizophrenia...
Please, Mr. Cavalera: do not further abuse our beleaguered patience.
Thank you. Your S.C. of (dis)trust.

Let’s also say that qualitatively the subsequent "Pleasure To Kill" truly surpassed it by far: that indeed turned out (in hindsight, alongside "Eternal Devastation" by Destruction) to be a work "..to say the least historic for the German thrash scene." This first work (aside from the somewhat deficient instrumental executions) remains "only" a pleasant (for the time.. and the proposed genre) debut and (in the humble opinion of someone who de-comments) little more: clearly, a classic De Gustibus clarifies any misunderstandings (not those of a historical/chronological nature, though..). A friendly pat on the back. Your trusted S.C.
Slayer South Of Heaven

Dear de-reviewer, Mr. Doom (starting from the classic premise that every opinion is and remains entirely respectable, or rather DE GUSTIBUS…), I will tell you: I waited (back then..) for the release of this epochal (so to speak) album with the same (im)patience as those thirsty souls in the Sahel desert in front of an elusive/revitalizing source of spring water... well, after a torturous wait, it finally came out.. (on vinyl): what can I say, the impact was disarming, but "we had to make ourselves like it," because… "it was the new Slayer," yet deep down there lingered a disappointment that grew more substantial (with each subsequent listen). Listening to it again today.. (after what feels like a lifetime) in all honesty (I personally believe), the signs of a general "compositional weakness" are more apparent than ever, which gradually thickened with the multiple subsequent releases [after all, it would have been quite improbable to do better, and more, than the (musically) historical "Reign In Blood"]. The formula (overall) remained the same... but with a decidedly (too) lower emotional intensity.
Thank you nonetheless for your comment: it is always a pleasure to read/discuss/dialogue (as long as there will be one) with different points of view.
A more than cordial greeting. Your trusted S.C.
