Necrodeath Into the Macabre

Here! Now this was an ultra-metallic record as it should be. I remember when the vinyl arrived (late 1987), we could hardly believe our worn-out ears: the nice ideas contained in the Demo from the previous year were further developed and definitely in a positive sense for an album that truly held its own against the giants of the genre. Then, alas, the moderately disappointing "Fragments.." was released through DiscoMagic (the same label as the Bulldozer's "IX" and "Neurodeliri")… and, honestly, things were never the same again. Metallic reminiscences galore.

Thank you very much also to all the other (and overly polite) de-kommendatori. @Kozmo: but thank you for your infinite patience and kindness. Nothing less. @Porporato: regarding the latest from Madamoiselle Kittin (in cahoots with The Hacker), do you like it? I personally found some tracks nice and interesting (not to mention). O'-rvùàr.

A burning disappointment. Quite the opposite. After the remarkable work of the self-produced and infinitely more intense and successful "Into The Macabre," this second album arrived, not without undeniable expectations; the first sensation was that the best ideas had already been expressed in the debut album: riffs that were far too Slayer-esque and songs lacking adequate personality. We accompany all this with a rather flat and monotone recording, and the dish, alas, is served. Perhaps with decent recording and production, perhaps with some ideas developed differently... unfortunately, it is well-known that with "perhaps" and "but," one generally goes nowhere. O'-rvùàr. Indeed, UH!

The only thing I feel compelled to testify to you, given the miserable four awarded to the work, is to scrutinize the "my" current de-representative icon placed aside. Only four to the wonderfully bizarre and rich world of Jac? But you have completely lost it. Even while remaining. Personally, I would attribute Five/Fifths to any work (a gesture I haven't carried out in years except for the reviews of drim Tiater and "DetMagnetic" by Metallica..) of ours, even if just in this case, to highlight your unusual sufficiency towards the poor but always spectacularly imaginative Benito. Not to mention. Trottalemme, which is nothing else.

I see that "Death Coming from Space" provokes a certain commentatorial fear. Yet, the ingredients for a healthy and beautiful discussion based on the torpiloquistic foundation of the group were all there. Where did I go wrong? I retreat to my de-stances to reflect on the why. Not before thanking those who (completely stoically) decided to pay tribute through their utterly useless presence on this page. @MiconsUot: greetings completely reciprocated @ReverendoGiugno: indeed! @NeoAromatico: if the Vaiking is missing, it cannot be my DePaginam. @JusticeMan: make yourself comfortable: there’s plenty of room in there (you know, with just one neuron, space is wasted). UH!

It really needed a "serious" de-rece at the top of CasaPaginam. Ulan Bator, I must be honest, has never really captivated me much, but this made me want to listen to it (instead of not). My warmest compliments. O'-rvùàr!

Ah well! As long as we stay on the purely ideological level, I’m fully on board with it too (why not).

@MisterOdra: thank you for the grand recognition, but.. (considering the exceedingly hormonally charged atmosphere that has settled in such a LigaPagina) don’t lean on it too much :P

Perverts! Impure! Unbelievers! Don’t you know that love is made only-and-exclusively for (ahem..) procreative purposes? Consider yourselves all excommunicated! May Monsignor Milingo pray for all of you.

I agree with the merit of many of the claims you make. At the same time, dear Anatas, allow me to say that assigning five out of five (unless it has been done for a purpose that goes beyond the merit of the album) to this work seems frankly risky and, all things considered, unfair, as well as excessive, regarding the purely artistic qualities of the various cornerstones of their (at times) thrilling discography. How many stars should we then assign to "Dimension Hatross," "Killing Technology," and "Nothingface"? Ten each? That the good Piggy is no longer among us and that these will be the last songs branded Voivod naturally saddens all those who have always admired and appreciated them for what they have managed to deliver throughout their intense and lengthy career. I apologize for the length and for any potentially off-putting tone. O'-rvùàr. Indeed: UH!
