But dear my little and slightly wild AnnaLaiza, why do you mistreat me in such a manner... the fact that I am horrid to behold I hope doesn't mean anything to you: I was produced and brought to light this way, what can I do? Moreover, I had the honor of giving you a pentacular Five + Five to show you all my renewable esteem: but there’s truly no more religiosity. Instead. Endless kissing regards.

Mademoiselle AnnaLyza, do not concern yourself with them and continue with your incisive yet graceful analyses: they are merely uncouth and boorish. Au revoir.

What you define as "presumption" (?) and "intellectual pretension" (?), entirely for free, I would prefer to call, at the limit, "experience" and "a story already seen." That I might be wrong (as I mentioned at the time in the comments of the criticized review) seems entirely obvious and natural to me. I believe, at least this time, I haven’t. The fact that today "4 cats go to see them," in my opinion, means practically nothing. What escapes me in all this is that I "judged" an album; you project your "boredom" instead of addressing it, as would be appropriate, to an album/band that I reviewed positively and with which you disagree, judging me: a logic that makes no sense. Happy for you. Goodbye and thank you for the (almost) civil exchange of opinions.

Listen, Alessandro77, I do what I like, and I don’t think I need your approval or anyone else's to state my point of view. Both here and, especially, out there. Period. To return to the truly sterile "controversy" about the (so-called) Alice In Chains album, for what it’s worth, I confirm [I’ve listened to it all with repeated attention] that it is a work of such modesty that I don’t believe further discussions are warranted: if you (as many others) like it, I’m happy for you and glad for you all; I don’t need to and don’t want to convince you otherwise. To close the loop, though, you should have kindly responded to the eventual "non-existent names" requested in your first comment. But you can’t have everything in life. Enjoy your stay. P.S: I don’t know about you, but personally, I’ve been following Helmet since their debut 45 rpm (which I own): if I said what I said, I must have had my good reasons. Right?

@Alexander77: CopShootCop, Oxbow, Chokebore, NoMeansNo, Crash Worship, Truman's Water, Unsane, Fugazi, Cows... just a couple of names and to stay in more or less similar territories. Is that enough? One more thing, please don’t get riled up and moderate your language since no one has offended anyone else. Thank you.

Just listening to the first and last track of the CD makes it clear how steep the decline has been for Helmet (pre-reunion a few years back): "Born Annoying" from '89 literally blows away the re-recorded (more "smart") version from '93. What a shame. They were truly a great band before they realized the economic potential from the mass influx of money ("important" soundtracks, various appearances, compilations, and other insignificant trifles). "Strap It On" remains one of the best works to represent the sound of NO New York from the late eighties.

I don't understand why he has to argue in this way and/or offend his (perhaps overly calm) interlocutors. "I bet some of you use unknown drugs..." "HEY! DO YOU HAVE ALZHEIMER'S?!!!": I don't doubt that he surely knows a lot about the piano, but regarding the "rest," I seem to notice he's showing some (ample) gaps. Happy for him.

Good job! I liked it. I like it. I haven't listened to this one since the night of the ages. Who knows.

I've never been a listener of classical music, but (honestly) I wasn't aware it was "forbidden" to add (non-existent) notes to the original. And if the performer (while reinterpreting) thought those notes were really necessary? Frankly, I can't fully grasp the meaning of this harsh criticism: but were those notes (besides being non-existent) completely horrible [harmonically out of context] or (in any case) were they still listenable? Who knows.
