Dear Eneathedevil, I understand from many things that you do not share with those who "touch" your sacred monsters, who shake your pillars, who dare to doubt your certainties painstakingly carved into your personality, not accepting that even Battiato, every now and then—"a little," to be honest—might make his half blunder (see the album I reviewed and which I repeat reflects MY opinion) or that The Genius might produce a mediocre and dull album like the last one (assuming he really finished it as he wanted to, but that's another story...). My dear, I am convinced that in this world of vile, petty, and crooked individuals, there is very little that is sacred and untouchable, and I believe it is RIGHT, or even more ETHICAL, to say "I don't like this" if something does not please, to explain why, and to critique it; regardless of whether the thing comes from Bob Dylan, De Andrè, Berlusconi, the Pope, or God Himself, whether it is from the right, left, center, etc.

The aim is one, the pellets, on the other hand, go wherever the hell they want.

"'They've already done it' is in itself sufficient reason to denigrate or dismiss something (with rare exceptions), and that's why, in my humble opinion, in the landscape of these last months, very few things stand out, and those few can be counted on the fingers of one hand. The 'already heard', the 'already said', and everything that channels intelligence and good listening onto predetermined paths that have already been traveled, in my view, is not really worthy of purchase (listening sometimes yes): it's better to turn to the classics.

One thing is listening to Jim Morrison 'open new musical frontiers' (in the 60s!!) and another is hearing the Libertines (in 2005!!) imitate this or that other band, mimicking or copying word for word schemes, riffs, sounds discovered by others, or being able to afford producers, studios, sound engineers, promotional channels, videos, etc. Then once in a while, an exception pops up, of course, but that’s what confirms (my) rule.

P.S. Giubbo, your angry tone suggests you've revealed yourself..."

For trivial reviews or silly posts, I usually sign off as "...CAZ...", but I have other nicknames depending on how I feel.

With this nickname, I solely focus on harsh critiques; with other nicknames, I dedicate myself to praises and recommendations...

Thanks, giov, that was exactly the point (and it seems strange that someone hasn't understood it!). Unfortunately, doing a "real review," as you say, takes time, effort, and documentation. I've already spent too much time on this album and I'd rather dedicate it to listening to NEW things (did you know that at least 30/40 albums are released every day?) and possibly TRASHING others.

I notice that the Junkyard, when he wants to, can even string two words together. The confirmation is that when he posts, he says "ci fa" and not "ci è" as we all somehow hoped. What a poor guy...

It's true: my rational side wanted to give it a 3, but the animal within me couldn't bring itself to do it and imposed a 2 instead. And two it stays.

Beautiful, and I agree on "mellifluo": after a while, though, it becomes tedious.

I agree too: the real masterpiece is "The Fat..." that still shakes me like a madman just by hearing it. The previous albums were perhaps more underground and house for raves, but still niche. Anyway, great "those" Prodigy!!!
