that “I didn’t do justice” of mine was ironic, nothing like bitter or envious (?!). Keep doing your work in peace because The Punisher still has a lot to do. :-)

I almost wanted to review it myself... this review doesn't do it justice!

mybloodysyndicate: it's true that we're on DeBaser, but since it's not the Reviewer’s Bible, you can also relax and read some funny nonsense like this, even just for a smile, right?
Revolver: it would have been much more shameful if the review had been viewed 75 times and commented on 763, wouldn't it?
Anyway, this morning I love you all (and that worries me a little)...

Ebyone dear, you tell me if I got close or not (if you listened to the record) so then we'll know if the experiment turned out to be amusing or not. For me, it's still the same old soup, maybe played better, and what about you?!

... about De Andrè, everything you want, but he has already passed to a better life and then, frankly, I would never have the courage to punish "him".

...and anyway, you haven't listed the nonsense for me, my dear Cav. Banana 2.

If you were looking for an analysis of the album, track by track, meanings and technical details + some reflections, THEN I MISSED THE MARK and I agree with you. If you were looking for some reflection on the emotional relationship we have with American culture, of which Bruce is, willingly or unwillingly, a spokesperson, then I CAME CLOSE (of course, in this case, I can't give you a treatise on American Culture in 20 lines!!). Also, remember that what you define as "the simplistic, naïve, and simple-minded way of reasoning" is typical of American singers... With Springsteen, a "pulp" punishment seemed exaggerated because frankly, he doesn't deserve it.

...I also add that the pulp aspect was that extra twist to: A) describe a feeling shared by many (both deBaseriani and not) who would like to carry out the same "liberating action" on the character in question B) have a bit of fun, because after a while, narrating the feelings of a musical listening experience with technical descriptions, a list of tracks with related comments, etc., becomes boring for both the writer and a bit also for the reader...

Forgive me, but I have some justifications on my "defense": to tell a crime (because that’s what I do), the character MUST be of low respectability, of little value, and nonetheless deserving the highest punishment for the "shame" of their actions. Now, even in front of lesser works by, for example, Neil Young, like Coverdale, I don't feel right about taking him down because he has shown over time that he has things to say and he says them well. Of course, if he were to produce four consecutive albums that are ALL the same or ALL terrible, that would change things. Hence the "ease" of picking out trashy characters, especially Italian ones (also because, who’s going to pay for my trips if I take down Deep Purple?!).
