Exactly Sanjuro, even this your self-satisfied nihilism is part of the "game"...

I didn't say "he's an idiot," Bonny... on the contrary: I said what I wrote.

History teaches: nowadays, only those who proclaim themselves as Messiah with hints of delusions of grandeur are worthy of leading an extremely zealous minority that would swallow anything just to be "stimulated" with something immoral, exciting, and absurd.

It's precisely on "The visual and technical quality is hardly comparable to other productions" that I disagree. Moreover, this "insistence" on the topic of HOPE for Humanity, placing everything on the advent of the newborn, gives it all a somewhat "religious/catholic/fundamentalist" flavor, with an inevitable focus on the importance of having children, the sanctity of women as mothers, etc., etc. I REPEAT: the scene of the war interrupted by the cry of a newborn is truly CHILLING, 2 minutes of True Great Cinema. As for the rest... quite debatable. Which is exactly what we’re doing, indeed :-)))

YES, the scene of the child's crying is truly WONDERFUL and the only one that really sticks in the memory. And then, as much as the ship was called TOMORROW, the meaning doesn't change. Regarding the content, it says NOTHING new that hasn't already been seen in dozens of other films: pessimism, a degraded future, rebels against the government... the only real idea (great starting point) is the fact of zero-growth land. In my opinion, I think it could have been developed better (with a bigger budget) and not made as a film that "smells" of B-grade science fiction, the kind created with a low budget. And I'll stop here...

Poletti, I understand everything and everyone, but you can't attack a film every time just because it’s not from before the 70s, it’s not a Cult Movie, or it’s not famous. There are plenty of inventions, dialogues, and ideas here... giving it a 1 means you HAVE NO MINIMUM CRITICAL ABILITY and you're throwing out scores randomly, just for the sake of it... and you, who consider yourself a serious and critical person, come off looking like a TOTAL FOOL (a fan and lover of Ligabue, no less, and that says it all!!)

Better a hundred times the book, I agree. However, this film is still a SPLENDID thing!!
Voto:
No, I'm sorry... the intuition was good and certain parts are even WELL done, but there are some naivetés and certain "weaknesses" that are quite penalizing (like the ship that saves the survivors, which happens to be called "Hope" - if I remember correctly - pretty banal to say the least). In short, a film that COULD and SHOULD have delivered more! A well-crafted but somewhat thin review...
Voto:
Sorry... but doing things the traditional way COUNTLESS TIMES?!?! Is that not good enough for you either, Sanjuro?

it - makes - me - moderately - crap.
