Arctic Monkeys Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not

The fact is that the strokes can be a bit pretentious, but the arctic are on their first record and maybe they should act a little less condescending.

They are good, really good, and the songs are beautiful! Too bad I don't like them because they act so full of themselves and shoot down other bands as if it were nothing!

Music is also this, my dear! It's about tapping your foot and not spending your whole life in front of Weather Report or Jethro Tull... I find them good, catchy just enough... Sure, it's not a masterpiece, but in these times, it definitely deserves a solid 4 points! It's not an album to throw away! It's true there are many bands in this style, but it was the same with punk or new wave! What's wrong with that!?

Green Day American Idiot

You're off track, rock was initially intended as popular music, music of protest, the music of ordinary people!
Green Day American Idiot

I would like to try to close the discussion about Green Day's "American Idiot" once and for all. In my opinion, Green Day is one of the best "mainstream" bands; they have good songwriting, pleasant melodies, and they seem to be born for the stage. By "mainstream," I mean that we can't expect an album like those of the Dead Kennedys or Rancid, otherwise their market would shrink or worse, almost completely disappear.
Green Day has done punk, but now they have different targets and I believe that with American Idiot they’ve done their duty. They satisfy teenagers with their catchy and tear-jerking singles and even some music lovers with tracks like Jesus of Suburbia.
However, this logically makes them very famous figures, acclaimed by everyone, and from the outside it seems that Billy & Co. are nothing but cover bands and teenage heartthrobs (like a boyband). This bothers me too, and I can't stand their appearances here and there, and the posters in "cioé" or "tutto," but I would like to remind everyone that the Beatles were once like that at the height of their career... and we must acknowledge that if rock means popular music, they are winners!
Dj Spooky 5 questions to Dj Spooky

It's not that I want to question the artist, but it seems exaggerated to call him a genius. I would rather define him as a great "tinkerer" when it comes to music on the computer. Music that I find cold and that doesn't convey emotions to me, ideal perhaps for a game but not for "regular" listening. It's not about a "genius", but just the usual DJ who's so trendy these days, skilled as he may be, but most of the time they're shooting stars.

I respect them because, after all, they have put in the hard work. However, I don't like how they sell their image. In this album, they alternate some nice songs with lightweight radio tracks. What a shame.
