I'm listening to "I was born free," it's nice but not at the level of Darwin.

I simply say that Rush managed to create that warm sound with just three musicians... and this also means "how beautiful the productions of the 70s were, compared to the cold sound of today."
Looking back at the review, I may have judged 2112 a bit harshly (and restrictively), almost labeling it as pure heavy metal (even though the references are to metal bands that have openly drawn inspiration from them)... thus making someone shudder and turn over (sorry!)... but then again, I am far from pretending to be a serious critic (get behind me, Satan), I try to write what an album conveys to me... and this doesn't mean that I retract anything I've printed above, clearly... Orietta Berti you say!? Mmmm... but what do you want me to answer? ;)

try to speak badly about the prestigious bands... but is there anyone (just one) willing to openly declare that there are NON-promoted groups (sometimes completely boycotted, like Museo Rosenbach) that play better and have many better ideas than other prestigious ones?
x superintruder, I actually didn't mention the drummer of Rush... you're right. The fact is that I was thinking about the review, and I wanted to be a bit harsher towards DT (which I AVOID mentioning, and I was right to do so, given the tone of the comments... oh well), I’ll just say that Rush came FIRST and there were only three of them...
and then, for goodness' sake, these are classics, they might even disgust you, they may not even be absolute masterpieces (this one at least qualifies), but they are still classics...

Well, you can't say that your observation is wrong, Markco... after all, Italian is a language, and as such, it lends itself to errors, inaccuracies, and those unavoidable and necessary compressions of information (baroque = classicizing, symphonic, but we're always back to that). Here we are talking about music, and we should simply listen... bye!

But in the end, everyone talks about their own stuff, but who is the anonymous genius writing random things? In my opinion, it’s a serious music critic :P

Prophilax Il Quinto Escremento

Not bad, Mc Sampyr. Too bad the review talks more about their previous albums than about "Quinto escremento": it might actually be the best one they've made in terms of music, technique, production, everything. Of course, some things aren’t very funny (like "Anal Food"), but Prophilax really carry on their flag of lowbrow humor, gratuitous vulgarity, nonsense, bad taste, and rampant filth... you can listen to what they think about politicians and cardinals (in the almost thrash metal "Don Mignotte"), about porn actors ("Pornografia unica via"), about bad healthcare ("Ospedanal": "and if they have to operate on your brain, they'll accidentally cut off your penis"), about trains ("Treni der cazzo").
It must be acknowledged that they are vulgar and maybe predictable, but they definitely know how to play; they are violent, fast, and mean like the best metal bands, authentically "romanacci," and proud to always say what they think, or at least show what they think. In short, sincere: if that seems little to you...
Manowar Warriors Of The World

Nice album and decent review, but you either love or hate Manowar... that's just how they are, with their steel, their fucking, king, metal, beer, etc... all those metal stereotypes that I don't really like that much, even though I'm a fanatic of the genre. And let's be clear, the music and the lyrics aren't bad at all. A friend passed me this album, saying: "it's crap, they've changed, they're pop," BUT I convinced myself it's NOT really like that. They still sound like they used to, and they hit hard. They are Manowar!! Then they are anti-innovative, monolithic, stereotyped, they even seem like the clueless grandsons of He-Man, but what can you do? They are Manowar!!
