Departure
In the fleeting moment that I usually fail to find, I have decided - for now - to give up writing reviews, despite it being a pleasant and stimulating activity. I believe that my reviews will be missed by no one, except the four nice slackers who had a lot of fun teasing me and gaining my trust. The very fact that you are reading this profile shows that at least you have the curiosity to know what "happened" after about a year and a half of enthusiastic and sporadic "involvement" on debaser.
The "problem" is that I find enough idiots (and maybe I was the first idiot to go looking for it) arguing online about issues that are hardly resolved even in person: see for example the loud and endless discussion about the artistic value of Green Day.
And after all the time spent passionately debating through the keyboard, I’ve gotten a bit fed up and prefer to speak face to face, even passionately, but always in front of my favorite alcoholic drink and with my best friends. And I still use the keyboard, for programming... computers.
A friendly greeting to all my "supporters" who still comment on my old reviews, to the whole editorial staff, and especially to the polemic "cases" that are growing exponentially.
Assuming you might care about it (!), here you find the list of the best CDs I’ve listened to in the last 2 years.
Greetings to everyone...
mayhem has decided to write about the music he loves, which has been an integral part of his life since he was 13 years old.
mayhem does not like rankings, despises labels, and if he must, he associates a particular album with each period of his life. Where others put Baglioni and Battisti, he cites:
13-15 years old: Master of Puppets - Metallica
16-18: The Great Southern Trendkill - Pantera
19-21: Powerslave - Iron Maiden
22-24: The Sound of Perseverance - Death
25-26: prog, ambient, death, jazz, black (???)
mayhem’s preference for "alternative" music is obvious; just look at the reviews he writes (at least most of them): furthermore, he believes that often inventing a genre (death, prog, jazz,...) to define a style is entirely pointless and misleading.
The direction he embarks on for the future is that of "universal music," but since it’s a too philosophical concept, he prefers to decline the invitation and go listen to some more of his beloved music.
